How Will Charged Attack Damage Work In Melee 2.0?

On all melee weapons right now, damages are explicitly set for each individual attack - for example, Galatine's attacks deal 35 damage on regular, 400 on charged, while Dakra Prime has 55 regular, 80 charged.

The thing is, since charged attacks as we know them are apparently being removed and replaced with a channeling system, it's not exactly clear how the current charged attack damages are going to translate into the new system. So, I have a few questions about that:

- Are weapons all going to have a "base damage" stat, as well as a "channeling multiplier" that corresponds to their previous normal:charged ratio? For example, Galatine having 35 base damage, and around a 10x damage multipler when channeling?

- If the previous is true, will the current charged damage mods increase this multiplier instead?

- What will happen to the current charge speed mods? According to the last livestream, channeling apparently can be activated instantly at any time, making this mod effect useless.

How about waiting till the update drops. No one knows and of course, the Devs aren't gonna respond till the content is out there. If it was up to me, all these posts about these concerns would have been deleted instantly. Just wait it out and see what changes were made guys.

Scott said on the recent livestream he went around adjusting the numbers for a lot of the melee weapons. I'd imagine with a weapon like the Galatine, it would get a nice damage increase to make up for the fact that charge attacks will no longer exist.

This is pure speculation and we won't truly know until the update drops in a few days.

Actually, if I remember correctly, as long as you don't actively equip your melee weapon, you will still be able to quick-strike/charged attack normally, just like pre-Melee 2.0.

So.. I guess it's just more build diversity? Since quick-use melee weapons are more like sidearms, allowing you to shoot-n-slash, while actively equipping your melee disables shooting, but melee turns into a main weapon instead?

Though I understand the concern on this thread though, whether Charged Attacks will be accounted for in anything other than Vanilla Melee. We'll just have to see what goes.

Melee 1.0 will still exist, and charge attacks too.

To have access to 2.0, you press the key of your choice and then you hit a lot more than the current normal attacks via combo's with different timing), and once you hold another key,you enter the channel mode and your damage increase pray after pray...

I guess that a single channel attack < melee 1.0 charged attack but just slightly.

Pretty sure they said in the Devstream that charged attacks are getting nixed period. Even if you're quick-attacking without having melee equipped.
