Why The Skana Costs So Much To Rebuild

All over the place when people talk about the costs to build gear in the quest for mastery rank they remind us to level our Mk-1 Bratons and latos before selling them. Escpecially the skana due to it costing so much to rebuild. I havent seen anyone answer why it costs so much, only questions to why. But doesn't it say why in its description? You're supposed to master the Skana before all else.

No, they say do it early because its hard to level since its so weak. Also they are wrong the Skana is easy compared to clan weapons.

The last part about mastering the Skana is simply a piece of lore, forgotten and lonely in a game with very little of it thus far.  As for its high production cost, I remember back in the days when you could simply buy one complete from the market for a relatively low fee; the reasoning behind this change I'm unsure of, taking a high price tag to a very beginner weapon.

The general idea is to level all weapons as much as possible before selling in order to obtain as much mastery exp as possible.

With the onset of Melee 2.0, the Pluto-soloer Skana may not be so weak after some training.  Level it up and keep it, as large changes to melee are expected in the coming week.

The same reason Excalibur is on Pluto. If you can have it since the beggining and you refuse to, you shall spent time to get it.

But seriously, no idea. Recently bought Mk1-Braton and Lato to fill them with formas and almost didn't took Skana due to not being a credit transaction

>pillar of their culture

When I was born my mom gave me a gold bracelet that was worth a lot. I still have it today, but I had the option to sell it. I imagine that selling the skana would be like selling off part of you - costing an arm and a leg so to speak.

Also probably making a skana probably takes a lot of knowledge like how to craft it right and since there isnt a handy orokin blacksmith that's probably also the cause from a lore perspective.

the MK-1 braton and lato / skana are Newbie weapons , they are meant to the pinnacle of starter gear , they dont really imagine anyone going back when they are MR15 and have everything

i mean i have everything but i would not go back to starter gear... its just useless

Skana is easily one of the better looking Melee weapons though. If only there was a Dex Skana or something.

I personally don't like the non-colorable white part.

Lato(25k?)

10k

the MK-1 braton and lato / skana are Newbie weapons

That with a catalyst and a certain amount of forma (like any other weapon in game) can hold up pretty good at high level stuff.
