(PSN)Quantum_Ranger01
I have an idea for increased game play for Warframe. It revolves around the extractors. You would allow the extractors to be modded like warframes and have catalysts, Aura slots and use Forma to align slots to specific polarities after each Lvl20. The extractors would gain "experience" when they are extracting or during battles and level up like warframes. The Auras would be either for extraction efficiency, defensive fortification (Shielding), offensive capability (Turret installation), or Booster for Warframe abilities, etc. Then there could be mods similar to the Sentinel: Armor, health, shielding, Weapon enhancements, or resources specific mods to increase the change of extracting a particular resource, etc. Each planet would have a separate node where the Extractor would "reside." It would be a point defense mission of 3-5 waves of foes. 1-2 mods would randomly drop in addition to 1-2 cores during each wave. The foes and mods would be leveled based on the system where the extractor is installed. The higher the system the greater the chance a rare mod would drop. These Extractor mods would only drop while defending this asset and this would only be a solo mission where the Tenno is defending their equipment, succeed and the equipment survives, fail and the equipment is destroyed with the mods. The extractor would be attacked during infestations, and faction Invasions. The player would receive an actual email to the registered email account, and an in game notification. If they are logged in they would have 25 minutes to report to defend the equipment, if they out of the game they would have 24-48 hours to log in and then the 25 minute clock would start. I believe this would add an interesting dimension to the game and give the player a sense they are actually defending something of their own and would only add minimal content, like mod cards, and the huge extractor to defend, I was thinking building sized. You could use an existing point defense location from each of the planetary systems and add an Extraction point so even if the equipment is destroyed they would still have to extract to receive their drops. If the die, they receive no drops in line with existing game play for survival missions.
The66Monkey
intresting....I just don't think this would add anything to the game really. I do like the idea of having more personal stuff in the game that you care for but the reason i don't use extractors atm is that i don't feel the risk/reward is worth it. I seldom even manage to get an extractor to collect enough recourses to build another extractor before it is destroyed. I think the big problem is is the perma-death system, if they revived and regenerated hp over time then i would gladly sink a few potatoes and forms into an army of extractors to go out and farm the galaxy for me, just like i have made my sentinels into COMBAT BEASTS so that i will never be alone. BUT!!!!! What would be the point? more recourses? the only reason most people log in anymore is to grind recourses for the next dojo room or research. This would lead the game even more away from space ninja and more towards space-sim.
neKroMancer
Extractor is pointless mechanic. It took four hours to collect resource that I can get within 15 minutes of gameplay. Perma-death also a thing that prevent player from investing in Extractor. Forma/potatoes vanish after it went down? Why bother investing?
