(PSN)friedricetheman
Hi, I am writing in frustration after dumping my second forma into Braton Prime. I have only 2 more Forma's to go but am already burnt out on trying to level up the weapon two times. To forma a weapon 4 times, you will have to level up the same piece of gear 5 times. My suggestion, give us an insta level item that is one time use only. Let's call it Super Orokin Module. It can only be bought with platinums from the Market. Make it cost 40 platinums (which I think is quite fair). When used on a weapon/frame/sentinel, it automatically maxed out the equipment regardless of it's rank. So, you can go from unranked to 30 with it. With this, I can either grind the same weapon 5 times to have 4 forma's on it or pay 200 plats to get it done in less than 5 minutes. And then, I can enjoy the weapon with 4 forma's on it without having to grind for days even with affinity boosters.

Alighierian
Sounds a bit too much p2w for me a bit? this is the one thing which makes the entire game 100% 99% pay2win capable. ok, 99%, since you can't buy stuff like the brakk. and as for the forma issue: that's the entire point. You will have to find a balance between how much time you want to invest and how good you want a weapon. Take out that (re)leveling part and you lose so much goal in this game you WILL get bored in no-time. Edited April 8, 2014 by Alighierian
(PSN)friedricetheman
It's not pay to win. It's pay to not grind for days. You can still not pay and opt to grind for days if you want. Pay to win is when you have to pay real money to get something done. You can still do it the old fashion way if you like so it's not P2W. Edit : You can buy credits on the Market with plats so why not Affinity? Edited April 8, 2014 by (PS4)friedricetheman
CaptainPeanut
I understand the frustration and the feeling of being burnt out on the grind, but I severely disagree with this idea. This would make the game far, far too close to being pay-to-win.

nintega
If you so desperately wanna dump money on leveling your weapons, then just buy an Affinity Booster. It can't be said enough, your idea would bring this game one big-&#! step closer to Pay2Win.
Emprenos
5-6 ODDs of roughly around Wave 30-40 should do the trick of maxing out your equipments and frames though. However, I can see that this "item" suggested would be pretty much a hotseller since I agree that remaxing equipments can be a pain. As stated by many before me, this seems a bit like pay-to-win. Argue as you may, but you're thinking in terms of maxing a forma'd equipment. However, this item can be used to max out a completely new unranked weapon as well. In that sense, you can already pay plats to buy the equipments themselves straight from the market, and they're still unranked. No point to add in another item that further increases the gap due to plat-purchased equipments. And ya, you have affinity booster you can buy for 40plats, same as the price you propose as well. Doubles your speed of leveling. If you want to spend 40 plats, spend it on that. At least that affects ALL your equipments rather than just a single equipment. PenutReaper
Using a forma to upgrade your gear is a commitment to make it stronger. The keyword here is commitment. IF the game gave you an option to just max your gear instantly you've just lost hours of gameplay. Is that honestly something you want, less things to do? As well as that, multiple forma on a weapon is something of a status symbol, it shows you've taken the time and forma (a fairly hard to obtain resource for the most part) to upgrade your gear. My friends Hek has 4+ forma in it, this suggestion would make the hours of gameplay he went through to get it to the point pretty much irrelevant. The same could be said about my Banshee. I know for a fact that people have sunk 8 forma in some gear. Again, that would be made irrelevant. I know that this may sound a little selfish, but I'd rather not have most of my 700+ hours of gameplay made effectively a waste of time, and I'd rather other players not lose up to hundreds of hours of content. gnat6
Sounds a bit too much p2w for me I would not quite call it pay to win only because there is not really any way to actually win warframe but apart from looking at the maps leveling up weapons is 90% of the content right now and anything that allows you to skip that basicly means you are paying to not play the game. Whether or not a specific player chooses to utilize this option is irrelevant. It will undoubtedly be used by yourself and many other pay-to-win players. Also, I defy you to identify three players who ever knowingly spent platinum on credits.

Luminati07
Sorry, but this is right up there with one of the worst ideas I've ever seen on these forums. That's not an insult to you, just to your idea. Giving people the ability to instantly level things up is pay-to-win, no matter what spin you try to put on it. LGear
As others have said, such a suggestion would make the game close to Play-To-Win, where you can just spend money to get yourself a super powerful weapon in an instant. The reason Forma resets weapons to unranked and then requires level 30 to use is because you're supposed to be making a choice on whether you want to spend the effort necessary to make your weapon more powerful via polarization. I've spent 2 Forma on my Mk1-Braton - why yes, the Mk1-Braton - and it only took me less than a couple of dozen missions under 8 hours of non-continuous play to go from Unranked to level 30, even without an Affinity Booster. Besides, if you want to level up your weapon quickly by spending credits, there's a thing called the Affinity Booster available in the Market. Edit : You can buy credits on the Market with plats so why not Affinity? Because credits don't make Warframes or Weapons more powerful by themselves. Berslythe
Yes. Let's get rid of having to put any effort whatsoever into obtaining powerful weapons. Surely that will increase the fun I have in warframe!

Xaelon
Leveling weapons isn't hard if you know what you're doing. Something like this doesn't need to be added because it's easy enough to re-level weapons as is. I suggest looking up leveling guides and/or buying an affinity booster. Once you know which maps to use depending on the rank of the item you're leveling it goes pretty quick. The better the weapon you're leveling, the faster it goes. Using an affinity booster, I think I did Apollo (the first SV mission on mercury) for 15-30 minutes and my Boltor Prime went from 0 to around rank 15 (I can't remember the exact rank) in that single run. One of the best tips I can give you in relation to leveling weapons is to disable the skill that lets your sentinel attack. I love my carrier, but the guy is TOO good at his job, and every kill he gets is one that my weapon doesn't get. Avoid using powers that deal damage also, since weapons get no exp from enemies that are killed using your frame's powers.
Wallace24
yeah, that would be the definition of pay 2 win it would be nice if the weapons had a naturally higher affinity rate after you forma them. but really, just get an affinity booster. makes things level up crazy fast. and those are about 40 plat, I believe? so then what would be the point of the affinity booster if that were introduced? and even if you raised the price to 1000 plat to insta-level a weapon, people have a lot of plat to spare, and so for them, there won't really be a reservation price and they'll benefit a lot while other players would have to buy that much plat anyhow, yeaNO
