Oxium Should Drop In Higher Quantities

Oxium is kind of a special resource, in my opinion.

It only drops from one enemy in the entire game, which itself has a low chance of spawning.

It only drops in really small quantities, but any blueprint that requires it needs large amounts of it.

The enemy itself that drops it, The Oxium Osprey, can commit suicide, which instantly makes any effort into getting Oxium wasted. On top of that, the Oxium Osprey doesn't leave a wreckage behind, meaning that you cannot even desecrate it.

To be honest.

I am ok with almost all of this, but I would love to have the Oxium drop amounts increased from 1-2 to at least 3-10.

That, or the amount of Oxium required in blueprints should be severely lowered to match the drop amounts. (instead of 200 per Zephyr part, it could be 50 for example).

I know that some people will just scream KAPPA, CYATH or MIMAS but doing the same map over and over again for 20-40 oxium per run.. its freaking boring. The farm is absurd. Doing the same mission 10-15 times in a row, hoping that RNG is merciful to you.. This kind of farm should not be in Warframe.

I hope people do agree with me and that DE will at least read this.

Agreed. The enemy doesn't have to change, nor does it have to drop from more types.

I just find it ridiculous that DE wants me to find and successfully destroy from 300 to 600 Oxium Ospreys (depending on luck) just to make one Warframe. It's the most ridiculous grinding I've seen that's not just a simple little weapon.

I do agree they should drop more per osprey, but if you really don't want to grind it out you could buy the oxium in the market. Its actually a really good price, 30 plat for 300 oxium. 90 plat for the whole frame, atm that is one of the cheapest frames in the market.

It would be 60 plat to get enough Oxium. Each part besides main BP needs 200 Oxium, multiply by 3, that's 600.

*Sigh*...

I remember Kiste times. One run for ~150 Alloys. And no one whined about drop-rate... Same thing for CMs and now we've got Nano Plates and Nano Modules.

In our case, in my first run on Kappa i got 69 Oxium.

Got 2.000+ Oxium in one evening after that.

And what i have now:

Do Kala-Azar - good spawn rate. Do Palus - same. I don't know.

Btw, use resource booster (i didn't use, except of St. Patrick's day)

I don't say they shouldn't change it. Just combine missions you're doing. Survival, MDs, Defs and etc.

Run Mimas on Saturn, I consistently get 70-80 oxium for a 20 minute survival.

And I consider myself lucky if I score over 20 doing the same.

I usually roll to 30 minutes myself. It is all thanks to RNG.

For new players, by the time they reach these, they'll have plenty, just like derelict nav orbs

You sure about that?

I personally do not think so, mostly due to the suicide behavior of the Oxium Ospreys and their tough armor and large health pool.

what you're seeing now is exactly like what happened when the nav orbs were released only you can actually deliberately farm oxium if you wish

Oxium was a pretty lame solution for a non problem. It was basically created so high rank players had to waste time farming instead of being able to build the new frame from their resource stocks.

A new resource that drops only from an annoying, rare enemy and is used in large amounts for a single warframe. And after the frame is built there's no more use for it(distilling extractor don't count 'cause it sucks).

Huh, you also need it to remove the G3 clamps.

And you can get enough in Kappa in a few runs. Or Mimas, now that's been overrun by Corpus. Mimas being the best place right now.

I don't see a problem in introducing new materials to the game really. New weapons and adjustments will make new/old items start using it.

It's a non-issue.

Them Nav Orbs are a 50/50 drop from containers and lockers which usually exist everywhere in a map. On top of that, you only needed 5 per key, not 200. I didn't have any problems finding them and making Derelict keys.

You cannot farm Oxium if you have strokes of bad luck all the time and the RNG Gods refuse to shine upon you.

It's even worse on PS4, I believe. I still don't know if the bugged spawn rate was ever fixed. I've never seen an Osprey on Kappa even though it's Corpus controlled and the best I've gotten on Mimas was around 34 with a booster for 20 minutes. I'm just 204 Oxium away from Zephyr now, though. *sigh*

A prime example of why I would want DE to increase the drop amounts of Oxium.

So people less fortunate with RNG, like you, can at least have a fighting chance without being forced to the mindless farming.

Do tell exactly how you farm Oxium.

Go to Kappa.  You'll get 30-40 per run in most cases.  But again, by the time that you hit the point of needing them, you'll already have a large volume.  I had no trouble finding nav orbs and had no trouble farming the needed Oxium for Zephyr and Helios.
