(PSN)Hiero_Glyph
Given how poorly some commands work on a controller I thought I would suggest an ideal solution for equipping a melee weapon. Instead of tapping the weapon swap command to cycle weapons, holding it will avoid any confusion and ensure the melee weapon is equipped when wanted. With primary equipped: Tap - change to secondary Hold - change to melee With secondary equipped: Tap - change to primary Hold - change to melee With melee equipped Tap - change to primary 2x Tap - change to secondary OR Tap - change to last equipped
(PSN)cv3411
I was thinking something along the same lines but I don't know what they plan to implement with the weapon change system. My idea was to be able to double tap from any selected weapon and have it skip over the next selected cycled weapon. (I.e. From primary, double tap to skip straight to melee and double tap again to skip to secondary ,repeating process) And of course a single tap would cycle through normally to the next selected weapon. Like your idea as well but I don't see myself holding triangle(or whatever is used for anyone) to switch to melee from secondary when I could just tap once to do so. Nonetheless great idea I was Wondering if anyone was thinking about this.
(PSN)Hiero_Glyph
Wait until lag affects your game and you will become frustrated with your tapping system. It is all to easy to tap, have no response, tap again and have the game update with both taps instead of one or with only one tap. Holding, even for a fraction of a second, will avoid such latency issues. In all honesty, this is the best system I could recommend as it is virtually lag proof and holding will only require 0.25-0.5s to register, not over a second. (PSN)cv3411
Yeah I lag a lot switching between weapons, alot of the times tapping to switch doesn't register and it stays on current equipped weapon. I think lag will affect this no matter what, holding or tapping with it not even registering the button press or just lagging the actual switch of it. I don't disagree with your idea at all was just throwing out an alternative. But then who knows what DE has implemented for this, we re still in the blue. (PSN)atpbx
It works like that anyway. When playing with a controller on PC, it defaults to hold change weapon to equip melee and tap to cycle.
(PSN)BitmapFrogs
Be more efficient to have a dual purpose button, it's a standard practice in console games. as an example, the interact button can be both interact and change to melee weapon. This leaves the melee long press available for example to throw the glaive.
