Why Don't We Have A Refund Option?

I'm just curious is all. Cause sometimes we buyers would be dissatisfied of what we purchased with plat. Would it hurt the market somehow or is there more to it?

Only thing I could see is like a Trial system that gives you the weapon for like 1day for some amount of credits. Unable to be ranked up, but you can get a feel for the weapon still. Plat refunds are ehh.

Just youtube or do some research on what you're wanting to buy before you buy it.

Yeah, or some tokens you have to work for. Either way, it'd be nice to have the option.

think of it like this; you payed $30 for plat now you have 450 plat + the bonus plat they give you. Now with that plat, you can buy almost everything in the game (i mean any 1 item)...so lets say you bought the Hydroid frame, you didnt like it so you got a refund and are again with 450+ plat...with this method you can get almost everything in the game, current and future content with that single purchase.

 

Now if everyone were to do that that would mean that people would pay for plat once and never have use for anything else again...and well Warframe is made by a business and business' want money (on a more brighter side they use SOME of the money to better the game:)

of course that would not be possible, they arent stupid, im guessing something like you lose the affinity you gained with the weapon if you get a refund for it, that would work

every plat purchase is essentially an impulse purchase out of curiosity. If your curiosity didn't outweigh your wallet, you'd just farm it.

 

So, what would stop you from trying out everything in the game, then returning it?

Right, but you're assuming it's a simple pay and then return system. More importantly, you are forgetting about mods and potatoes AND forma.

 

If you bought plat to buy a weapon or frame but didn't like it then you made the wrong purchase. Someone who buys plat for potatoes for their guns is mislead into thinking these items are necessary or they should be happy with their purchase.

 

Someone who DID buy plat for a specific weapon, frame, or sentinental maybe should be entitled to a refund however. Then again, maybe we all should be.

It's way too easy of a system to abuse. 

 

There's a reason why every game ever doesn't offer refunds.

 

Of course, if you accidentally purchase two, or purchase it for platinum instead of credits, Support is usually great about undoing your accidental purchases.

firstly, there are literally no items that require platinum to actually get, that have any actual effect on gameplay.

 

you can already get free plat through trades, contests, giveaways and you even get a little bit for simply making an account. not to mention you can already get massive discounts simply by logging on. and you can save large amounts of money on plat when buying large amounts, prime access being an example.

 

DE is literally giving us platinum left and right, even though its their source of income. the very least we can do is be grateful wisely spend it

I purchased the u12 mega bundle by accident (don't try and reply to chat while you have the item up in the market) after that I sent a ticket to support and got a refund. Only took 1 day I didn't use any of the weapons/frame and I didn't run any mission after the purchase cause of the booster. Support was pretty fast and there was no issue.

If you bought something by mistake just send in a ticket and see if you can get a refund. I'd suggest not using anything that you bought and if it includes a booster not to run any mission just so they know your not trying to take advantage.

Riot implemented a 3x refund system a while back where an account may refund up to three things over the course of the account.  Something like that could work I suppose because no one would dare abuse it for fear of losing one of their refunds.

Why refund when you can just test in the first place?

 

Planetside has a solution to this in the 'VR Training' map.

 

Something similar in warframe might be this:

Go to your dojo's training area, pick a weapons or frame (comes max level with catalyst or reactor), select polarities and upgrade it with anything you want from a database of mods, then beat up the ghostly images of grineer, corpus, and infested that are just standing around. When you're done, leave the dojo or training area and the item is removed from your inventory (or it's never there in the first place, because who wants to dedicate an empty slot to a test weapon?).

 

For the sake of a challenge and clan usefulness, rather than this being a simple buy-it-and-forget-it feature of the dojo, have weapons, frames, and mods unlock via donations from clanmates. E.g.: mod databases start empty, but could build up to include one of every mod and rank thereof with the correct contributions. Maybe even include the renewable color palettes, syandanas, and cosmetic helmets, so crazy clan leaders with too much platinum have something to buy and those duplicate helmet blueprints have purpose.

 

 

I'm sure DE has their own ideas for this, but why not add to the pile? In general, the idea is to minimize demand for refunds by offering a try-it feature.
