I really want that katana!

Words can't do justice to the epicness of this picture. Look at that warrior-like expression, like a hunter starving for a worthy prey.

Are those made of folded carbon steel, regular forged carbon steel or stainless steel?

Also, The hype is real for me as well.I can't wait to use my katana in Warframe!

If you want to see my katana it's here with some other swords (sorry for shameless pic of myself and the quality of it)

The one in the middle (with the white sageo) is carbon steel. It's the iaito I use for training :D

Yay :D I'm guessing that the other two are stainless?

That reminds me. I need to find a place where I can train with mine

Nice! And the other two are more "terrible blades that shouldn't even be considered blades, but are nice for cosplay." Honestly, they're like extra long kitchen knives

Ah. The stainless steel, Machine (or cheap asian labor) made "sword-like objects"?

The sword that's not a claymore or a katana in my pic is the same. It does have a lot of weight to it though.

Precisely. I wouldn't use it if the color scheme wasn't nice and it didn't woosh as much as it does

Katana are nice and all, but I'd love a real, historical longsword. Galatine is just a stupidly large Zweihander, which is in itself, just a stupidly large longsword. I also want a freaking rapier. An honest to god rapier. Meant for stabbing. As used historically.

I wouldn't mind if a hand-and-a-half broad sword or a gladuis were to be in the game.

Edit: sorry if I'm derailing the thread

So they have a fuller (or blood grove) then? those make them great for technique practice.

I dunno to be honest. katanas.jpg

Here they are in comparison if it gives you a better idea

I would love to see a rapier or a gladius, maybe

The one on the top doesn't but the one on the bottom does. It's call the Hi by the Japanese, a fuller by the Europeans or sometimes a blood grove by modern culture. The reason why it's called a "blood grove" is by the myth that it makes it easier to pull out of someone when you stab them. This is false. the true purpose of the fuller it to lighten the blade without sacrificing the strength of the blade. In the case of the katana though, it creates a whooshing sound when it is swung properly.

In other words. the one on the bottom with the groove is what I'm referring to.
