Warframe & Destiny

I've been anticipating to play Destiny, it looks really cool. But a thought came to mind: it somehow reminds me of Warframe.

It's a team of 4 futuristic soldier/fighting people; you can customise your own characters; Your powers is from a powerful being; Multiple races that are against you and each other; etc.

These are some similarity in their most basic form, you can argue how advance the Destiny engine is, how Warframe is based on ninjas/assassins, where Destiny is based on warriors.

I'm not going to compare the two games or say which is better in what way. But is it a good idea for DE to take inspiration from games like Destiny or just games in general? Like DE said they don't want the game to feel like Devil May Cry.

Edit: I feel like I've been think this the wrong way. I agree with most of the reply it's two totally different game (story, art style, game development strategy, scale, etc), maybe I'm think about this too much, maybe I'm just putting Warframe into everything I see :P

P.S. Destiny Y U NO PC?!

I have been anticipating for Destiny just as well but its completely a different game. A big name IP with shared world servers, teams of 3 with co op and competitive elements, borderlands like shoot and loot style, open world, console game. Its also a spiritual successor to Halo in a way. But concept and business models are completely different. One is an AAA other is an indie F2P Tps. Also warframe is its own thing and making too much big changes to make it like other game wont always be appreciated. Melee 2.0 is anticipated so much because it was literally broken before.

Saw a small problem in your post.

Destiny team sizes are actually limited to three.

The story's, to be honest, barely have any similarities based on what has been reveled(in my opinion).

Also, all games draw inspiration from somewhere.  The question is if that game makes that idea their own successfully

Destiny will be similar in some ways, but it is a AAA game by a very major developer with a very serious bankroll. It's also console only.

I kinda prefer the art in Warframe, but we really haven't seen much of Destiny yet. Bungie has been very close-lipped with information.

I'm looking forward to it quite a bit, but it's not going to affect my gameplay in Warframe in the meantime.

I dont think the points you mentioned make it any less relevant of a game, there are countless other games that do several factions, 4 player co op, and gives you customization options and powers, really, what is it youre trying to say?
I looked at some gameplay of it, and it doesnt even look anything similar except that it involves guns, powers, aliens and space ships?
Not to mention DE had a playable beta of warframe a good number of months before destiny gameplay was revealed, so i guess you can argue that destiny isnt really paving the way.

Also they both are going to have endgame style focuses, called "Focuses" go figure lol. Either way, super excited for Destiny!!

However, Warframe is more linear and have way more power diversity then Destiny which is Open world and will have only a few classes to choose from.

They probably need a large enough server  for more than four players for that hub room (Correct me if I'm wrong but it doesn't seem like Warframe has a server right now)
