Jek.be
HI!I play the game since update 7 or 8 I think and it's the first time I encountered this problem. I can't invite one particular friend to play.At the very beginning, she had trouble with the upnp, her game was saying that she had a strong NAT.We tried to open the ports in her router (She has a bbox 3, the ISP is Belgacom. We're in Belgium)But we can't do it, that bbox is really horrible. Then one day she didn't have the message anymore, but we couldn't play anyway, so we looked for something else. For a moment we managed to invite each others, we found a method to try to "unlock" the problem. Basically, we had to join a game hosted by someone else, invite the other, finish the game and then we could invite each others easily. We managed to play for 2 or 3 weeks like that. Now, since a week I think, that solution doesn't work anymore. We can invite each others sometimes (works half of the time) and we can't invite each others after that.We even tried play with each others account. I don't know why, it worked once then didn't work anymore, even switching account again. Our firewall have been set for warframe, we even shut it down and it doesn't work either. We tried other stuff too but I'm sorry I can't remember everything. Thanks in advance for you answers.PS : English is not my mother tongue, please excuse me for my possible mistakes. Dalu__Ka
What happens if she clicks "analyze network" in the warframe options?
Jek.be
Well she's again having the message with strong nat. She didn't have it for a while and now the game don't even bother to tel her. The thing is we can't do anything in her router. Is there something else to do ?
Dalu__Ka
If you are not able to do anything in the router then that is going to complicate things. But we can try and find out if the ports are open or closed using an external program. http://portforward.com/help/portcheck.htm Also some ISP's close the ports from their end. But you should contact them to see if that is the case. And when you do contact them, ask them how you can access the router in question, because she should be able to. And if all fails, In one of the stickies on this sub forum there are a lot of people who circumvent this strict nat problem using an external program. I am not sure how they work, but you might want to check it out. Edited April 11, 2014 by Tenn00b
Jek.be
Hum....Well she can access her router but the problem is, when she open a port, lets say 3960 and 3962, and she saves it, it doesn't change anything at all.We tried that program too and if I remember correctly it was closed. We have been thinking of contacting her ISP too, but she really need internet for now, stable, so we'll check that after she can maybe break it down (I don't say it will happens but whit what she has we never know. And after looking on the forum she's not the only one who has this problem. We did see too that sometimes, when I'm in a game hosted by someone else, and that I try to invite her, she can't come, and one day after that happened I invited her and left before she joined, and she could join. It was like we were "opposed" or something, is it possible ?
Dalu__Ka
In game, and in router make sure that upnp is disabled, if that doesn't work either, she could try turning off the routers firewall to see if the problem is still there. Don't forget to turn the firewall back on after testing. Also check to see if she has any software based firewalls running, and if so, allow them to open the ports as well. Theocrass
Oh hey! I am having this same issue with my brother! We can't join or invite each other to games either. I can invite members of my clan to games, but not my brother. Wait, you want us to do all this stuff? Nevermind that we're not that tech savvy, but how is it our responsibility to fix this issue? Jek.be
A little evolution on the problem :I manage to invite her, only when I join a game already started and it works half of the time. It's weird :/
Jek.be
Soooooo for some reason we can invite each others, there is no more problem (for the moment) I really hope it holds like that.Apparently it's since the chat system crash from yesterday, we told ourselves "hey, why not try ?" and it seams that the fix you did solved our problem as well.EDIT : Nevermind, it's same as before now... Jek.be
So, I don't really know how to say that exactly but, after the "2 massives waves of DDOS attacks", the little fix you did manage to allow us to play together, and now it's stable but we can't invite each other again : |It's really weird, we were really happy that we could play and now it's bac kt otry to invite while in a game of someone else and maybe be able to join, and stil not being able to invite after the game.I really hope you'll fix this soon, playing without friends is boring :(
