Trading Abilities For Passives (And Extra Solo Idea)

So, since Helmets are becoming statless sometime soon (my money is on tomorrow with U13), I was tinkering with an idea to introduce back those passive stat buffs for each frame in some way - Passive buffs to your frame based on how many skills you have equipped or unequipped.

In essence, the buffs will vary dependent on what you have - so Equipping all your abilities will give a very different buff to having just your #1 equipped.

The basic idea I had of the buffs is this:

All Abilities equipped - Gain a buff to Power Strength, Duration, Range and Efficiency.

Removal of an ability - Gain a buff (scaled to the slot of the ability removed) that increases Weapon Damage, Shields and Damage Resistance.

No abilities equipped - Gain a buff to Weapon Damage, Shields, Damage Resistance and Health.

Equipping of an Ability: Provides an increase to a stat beneficial to that specific Warframe, i.e. Rhino gains +5% Movement Speed per Ability Equipped, Ember gains +5% Energy, Loki gains +5% Efficiency, etc.

Ability removal bonuses do stack but only to 2, so having your No. 2 and your No. 3 equipped will also give you the passives of having your No. 1 and No. 4 unequipped.

More advanced details:

All Abilities Equipped: Gain passive 'Offensive Power', Increasing Power Strength, Range and Duration by 25% and increasing Efficiency by 10%.

No.1 Unequipped Passive: Increase Weapon Damage, Shields and Damage Resistance by 5%

Only No.1 Equipped Passive: Increases Power Strength, Duration and Range by 50%

No. 2 Unequipped: Increases Weapon Damage, Shields and Damage Resistance by 5%

Only No. 2 Equipped: Increase Power Strength, Duration and Range by 40%

No. 3 Unequipped: Increases Weapon Damage, Shields and Damage Resistance by 10%

Only No. 3 Equipped: Increases Power STrength, Duration and Range by 35%, Increases Efficiency by 10%

No. 4 Unequipped: Increases Weapon Damage, Shields and Damage Resistance by 10%

Only No. 4 Equipped: Ultimate Core - Increases Power Strength, Duration, Range and Efficiency by 10%.

All Abilities Unequipped: Gain 'Combat Prowess', Increasing Weapon Damage and Shields by 30% and increases Shield Regeneration and Damage Mitigation by 20%.

The intention of these passives is to a) make up for the loss of helmet passives (some may be weaker due to not having a negative to make up for it) and b) give incentive to equip abilities by granting bonuses for each ability equipped with a sizable bonus to abilities if you have all of them slotted in. The Combat bonuses exist so you don't get punished for not running with abilities, while the Stand-Alone bonuses exist so that if you choose to only run 1 ability, it gets a massive boost to make up for the lack of the other 3 (Ultimate abilities get a massively reduced effect for this reason, since they're strong enough as is).
For the sake of balance these buffs aren't applied to Frames below level 15 (since they typically can't equip all their abilities anyway) or Players below Mastery Rank 1.

As for the Solo idea, it's in a similar vein as the passives - when you drop into a mission alone you get a buff 'Lone Operative' which increases all Damage by 30% and reduces all damage taken (including Shield Damage) by 25%. This buff is removed if someone joins the mission and can only be re-applied if you are left alone in the mission again (either by people leaving or Host Migration acting weird).

(PS: I dunno if this belongs here or the Fan Concepts - I imagine a Mod will shift this around to wherever it belongs)

I do not think this is necessary.

I mean, by sacrificing your abilities, you make your Warframe and its remaining abilities stronger already. By making you able to add more mods to your loadout.

Also, the stat removal from helmets is something I look forward too. I want to be able to use the Thrak helmet again.

Vanguard is ugly.

Well not all the helmets are gonna be without stats, those who have already gotten the helmets will have their stats still :P if they so choose to have the stats that is. some helmets look better but have lame stats

I forgot about that. However I reckon to balance out people still having Stat Helms anyone with those helmets equipped don't recieve the power equip bonus. Just so we don't have players running around with ~45% Base movement Speed increased Rhinos. Wouldn't hear the end of it from Loki players then. :P

Having all 4 abilities on tends to curb your modding potential however, so having some benefit to make up for the inability to stack Corrupted Mods would be nice. Likewise if you don't have any abilities on, gaining some form of damage bonus to your weapons (which, outside specialized Auras, don't exist) helps too, since most Warframe mods are defensive. The 'Solo Ability' boosts are just to make up for the fact that most abilities kinda... suck by themselves, especially No. 1's.
