Jiminez_Burial Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 I am going to either confirm what you think this thread is about, or I will prove it wrong. Already, there have been posts from people who want to display their annoyance, or think that complaining will either release some tension, force DE to release U13 sooner, or who just follow along with everyone else that is annoyed. I for one, will not be one of those people. I will not cast blame against DE, but rather stand with them. How many major updates, weekly Tenno reinforcements, or plain hot-fixes have been released by DE that then cause either an immense displeasure among us as a community, or introduced a very glaring, very concerning bug. Yes, I would very much like to have the update now, but DE obviously have not released it for a reason. Give them the benefit of the doubt, give them the time they need to build Warframe into the game that people just can't ignore. Balancing, mechanics, weapon releases, dojo additions or even animation changes can all go wrong. Obviously, something has gone wrong, but I thank DE for taking their time, for not giving us a broken update, clearly un-balanced mechanics or even something that feels half-hearted. Dark Sector was going to be amazing, but publishers got in the way. They put pressure on DE to create a game that did not risk anything, that comfortably confided with what the publisher knew people liked. DE have been stopped once from creating their dream game, let us not do the same by demanding early updates. When DE have done what they feel is right, they will release the update. Let us be rewarded for our patience with an update that truly adds something to the game, an update that DE are happy with. DE's community should be proud of them, so why are we only complaining? Be patient, and we will only have something to enjoy when DE are ready.
NanoDecerto Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 I do defend DE at every chance I get, but it does get irritating being left in the dark so often...
Roogan Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 Do you expect people without the patience to wait for the day's end are going to have the patience to read your comment?
Nervara Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 There are many like you as well. Good to know the game isn't full of complainers ;)
Un1337ninj4 Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 (edited) High five Tenno, REDTEXT just updated us, they're still smelting it, hoping to make it by PST. Give them two more hours, we've waited this long, I'm willing to go the extra mile and support these guys to the fullest. kscott190 Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 I do defend DE at every chance I get, but it does get irritating being left in the dark so often... Then stop depending them, they're well capable of doing that them selves
Foostini Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 You know, i understand where you're coming from and i agree but when you've failed to meet a deadline twice now, there's an understandable level of upset. Amateur development is annoying and with the apparent colossal bugs they came across to fail the first deadline, they shouldn't have set another so soon or at all. I'm not bashing or anything but there's a certain level of common sense that one would expect that isn't there.
RyojinOrion Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 I do defend DE at every chance I get, but it does get irritating being left in the dark so often... If they aren't filling you in, it just means they are busy working their asses off to get the update going.
Caernarvon Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 They already had an extra week to finish U13 after their failure last Wednesday. So no, I'm not going to "stand with them".
DMan Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 I don't want to sound ungrateful to you actually taking the time to write this thread, but it's kind of pointless to post it. These people won't read it anyway due to TLDR reasons. Anyway, welcome to the Internet
monkeys9ab Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 Compliments don't affect change criticism does. Nuff said
Filial-Devotion Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 I can't even play the update until tomorrow anyways, but still bro there is no excuse. They promised to have it out yesterday and they broke that promise. Also when are they going to say something about what happened?
seren77 Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 It's Beta, stop pretending it's not, we are all here to bug test. White knights are the reason we didnt get melee 2.0 months ago, you guys keep hyping the crap out of it, saying dont release it yet DE, dont release it yet.

Not everyone's time revolves around yours, you know. And by the way everyone, it's quite a common courtesy to complain when the GD's are staying up past 12 to get their updates done. *slow clapping* Edited April 10, 2014 by ikillyou8196
SHOKK_ Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 There are other games to play to pass time, I dontunderstandpeople
Skynin Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 Downvote button would be not enough to pleasure me. I want *slap_in_the_face* button for these guys.I'm with you.
Momoynator Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 They already had an extra week to finish U13 after their failure last Wednesday. So no, I'm not going to "stand with them". It's not just you, but many others, who don't seem to comprehend just how time consuming programming, game developing and coding is. Coming from someone who's taken one simple coding class, I can already tip my hat off to DE for even saying only "one more week". That isn't a lot of time you know. That having said, yes, they should've made the deadline they themselves set, but that doesn't not mean they have supreme control over any glitches that might happen on the way.
Agent_of_Change Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 OP I am 100% with you, except on one specific thing. Communication. I try to council patience and logic on the forums, I understand software development isn't easy and S#&$ happens. I support not providing a release date for something until you know you can hit it, however once you do confirm something... like U13 was for today, it is incumbent upon you to keep your player base in the loop. I'm not saying 10 minute updates but i am saying if you say wednesday and you aren't gonna hit midnight then some time before midnight you should tell them... something. It's about courtesy ,yes, but also about managing expectations and heading off some of the anger. I don't care if it takes longer, I do care when i'm told to expect something that thing doesn't arrive within the full window i was told to expect it and nothing was said. The communication is key, and it doesn't take much. I'm still not mad, just a little frustrated by the lack of feedback. I'm still excited for the update and i still support DE.
f-e-a-r-s Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 (edited) Timezones, this is DE's timezone, it's not time yet. http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/time-zone/gmt-5/ EDIT: Ignore this, friggin' daylight savings, not existing where I live. Edited April 10, 2014 by f-e-a-r-s

"Please, stop being rude and ignorant and posting annoying threads? " Better for people learn to wait and manners.
Agent_of_Change Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 What should they say? "Please, stop being rude and ignorant and posting annoying threads? " Better for people learn to wait and manners. Actually they should stay in contact with the player base especially as the expected deadline approaches and communicate something to either stand people down from the hype or try to reassure people that it is coming. Better for tehm to make a few posts than allow the forums to just start going off on tangents in the absence of information. In fact, they should say something like this: The last word from Dev's desks: Midnight EST has passed, still smelting, but we hope to have U13 in your hands soon. Sorry. Hopefully we can hit PST. It's appreciated DERebecca, it would have been more appreciated an hour ago :), but such is the nature of the beast.
seren77 Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 Meanwhile Cloud Imperium are off to pax coding on the plane, and still manage make videos explaining exactly where they are.
