so as may or may not have deciphered from the extremely coded title this discussion is devoted to:

-gauge the current feelings on the ease of acquiring the different stance mods (too easy, too hard, cheap yada yada yada)

-if and how it should be re-worked/re-implemented if needed( eg, different bosses having a boss drop all mods for a weapon type such as tyl regor dropping sword and katana mods)

-thats it

if your a little hazy on stance mods than go check them out on the other forums

quick refresher:

stance mods are randomly dropped from different enemies specifically, such as a dual sword stance dropping from ruk, for a full list see here:

keep on topic and keep it clean

ps. if anyone else has tackled or kicked this topic in the pineapple before me i do sincerely apologise

IMHO one of the stance mods per grip type should be common _and_ on a common mob. They can make the rest as rare as they like but you shouldn't lock remove basic functionality and they lock the replacement behind an RNG

they shouldnt be rare but uncommon

I have played for about 3 hours now including a few survivals, several exterminatons and probably at this point 40 runs of jackal and 10 of nef anyo

and i still do not have a SINGLE stance mod

any suggestions for specifics drops being reworked? like how some mods only get dropped by 1 mob rarely whilst others are dropped by a whole tile-set (speaking of the arid counterparts of grineer) uncommonly?

Steve said himself that stance mods would be easy to get. Been farming Jackal for around an hour, not a single one.\

EDIT - Given up after around 40 jackal kills with a single handspring mod and a lot of useless shotgun ammo and crit chance mods.

One of them is... the fist stance dropped by prodmen. Good thing fist weapons are so great, huh?

It seems like the Crimson Dervish that they use as an example should be really easy to get, at the very least. Like any Grineer Lancer has a decent chance to drop one. That way, hopefully by the time a new player has gotten through Mercury, they should have that to use on their Skana or Cronus. And it would be easy to farm for the rest of us, too. Just as long as it does not dilute the drop tables too much. (looking at you, Tailwind...)

I do not mind having some stances being hard to get, because that way you have something to look forward to. But having all of them be this rare is just annoying.

"Behold our great new melee system with all sorts of cool stances!  Oh, by the way, you have to grind like crazy to get any of them and they're all weapon type specific so have fun farming up every single one."

It's like DE went out of their way to make Melee 2.0 as disappointing and annoying as possible.

They should be common random drops from bosses or rare enemies. Those Stance Mod are like damage mods for weapons in melee 2.0. If you don't have stances, you miss out a big part of melee 2.0 ( or even melee 2.0 as a whole.)

instead of making them enemy drops only make them rewards in other game modes. even if its just fora bit it would make this way less tedious.

Some might be. There are a couple that don't show any drop info in the codex - my suspicion is that these are intended as surv/def rewards and/or transmutes.

I got a Machete stance mod when i was farming Vay Hek Beacons in a group of four Nekros'.

...too bad i don't have the machete, and that the machete is (possibly) the worst melee weapon in the game.

maybe i can sell it...

I took 12 hours. Spamming Nef Anyo. Spamming Jackal. I have nothing to show for.

That was until I decided to transmute.

10 minutes later...

I got 8 Rare Stances.

Im not complaining of course.

After reading most of the posts though I have to admit to not reading all of them In regards to the stance mods, it seemed kind of odd and counter-productive by DE to have taken such detailed time in putting together, what they feel is the be all of melee, only to make getting the very thing that would let you really experience all this fine work they have put into melee 2.0 so unfairly hard to acquire behind a, what seems to me to be, another broken RNG drop table.  If DE really wants you to use melee more then they obviously need to up the drop rate, it's that simple, no stance mods, no melee 2.0, no melee 2.0 equals a lot of wasted time by DE. Let me clear and honest about one thing, I don't use melee almost 98% of my game time, the two percent I do is to open crates, I'm one of those practical players who thinks it's better to kill 10 enemies at a distance with no risk to myself rather than jump into a crowd and start swinging, just wanted to put that out there.

It lets the collectors spend a month trying to get all the stances which bids time for the next update.

It gives casuals that same amount of time to find just those one or two that they want for the few melee they own.

And it increases Dragon Mod Pack sales, and sinks over abundance of credits and mods into transmute while they lower credits and mod drops overall.
