De, You Took What Should Have Been Fun And Just Turned It Into A Grind

I'm sorry but this guy is right.

We don't need MORE GRIND IN EVERY SINGLE PATCH.

We like content, but please DE, for the love of all things holy, stop trying to artificially extend the life of your game by putting pointless grinds in it.

You know what putting grinds in a game to artificially extend the content / life of a game does?

Kills the playerbase quicker. Seriously, people are having major doubts at this point, DE. Every patch - EVERY BLOODY PATCH - has grind in it. More and more and more grind.

Vauban was, well, an RNG nightmare.

Necros was a grind - fine, we'll deal with that.

Zephyr was a grind for oxium - this is getting silly.

Oberon was... actually alright.

Hydroid? Really? Grind for stuff to make a key, grind the boss for the parts, then grind the void for limited-time resources?

Come on DE, even you can surely look at that and go "Huh. Maybe a grind within a grind within a grind is taking it a bit far."

As for the stances, I'm ok with having to fight for them as mods. However; having them as super ridiculously low drop rates from random mobs / bosses is not acceptable. Maybe as nightmare rewards, or high-chance drops from bosses, sure, but not this stupidly low grind-your-eyes-out level of drop rates.

Please DE, before people abandon all hope, remedy this.

What they should do is at least increasing the drop rates if not giving basic stance mods. That is dissapointing,at least a skana stance for the new players would be nice. The drops are pretty bad.I farmed 5 hours nonstop for that vay hek key,i heard it's not reusable so i'll not farm anymore,it doesn't worth the time.Same with stance mods....i only got 2 dagger mods from endless grinding.Should i talk aboutthe fact that dual axes combos were not mentioned in the update log?

The first devstream I saw was 26, and I'm behind DE and support their efforts to make WF a better game. But there is nothing run with constructive criticism. This I do believe is a great example of that.

Everything can be good in moderation including grinding. Some things shouldn't have to be grinded, i.e. warframe blueprints. If someone in the clan has the WF than the clan should have it. It's the same model. I want the new kitana. I'm a lvl 5 master. Always have been, because I didn't care about that because I had the weapons I wanted. It makes sense that the higher your understanding of weapons the better weapons you master. But it's just a game. Why do I have to rank up everything in the game to use the weapon I want with the first WF I had? I don't use Primary Weapons at all, I melee 85% of the time. But to get the Kitana, I have to grind to get the money for BP or find BP, grind to get the components, grind to lvl it up, and then do this over and over to lvl 8 master. Then find the components for the Kitana and grind for the stance mods. Seriously??? This kinda sounds like a job. That's kinda not fun. Some things should be in the dojo for obvious reasons(basic Warframes and Stances) and some other things should be common drops. I'm just saying. Slow down on the "Grind Campaign" but other than that I like the way DE is going.

I'm trying really hard to enjoy this update but between the RNG wall for the stances, me having to almost completely rebuild my dojo to put the new rooms in the spots I want and the new weapons I wanted being clantech is really rustling my jimmies.

Seconded.

I was really looking forward to the Nikana, but when I found out that it was clan research only and that stance mods were complete grindcentral...

...I felt like I got ambushed in the butt.

I am very, very butthurt about this.

Like I said in a different thread, in my book, Update 13 hasn't even come out yet.

Melee 2.0 is still inviable, what with my lack of stance mods.  I also personally protest the fact that certain stances drop from certain enemies; if DE is trying to reduce grind, I don't know quite what they're thinking.  Fixed mod drops require players to grind specific enemies multiple times in order to secure a mod drop, whereas a mixed drop pool would both allow casuals to get in on the new hyped update as well as allowing players who want melee to actually experience much of Vay Hek's/Ceres events.

The Dark Sectors are also locked at the moment behind lab construction times, research times, build times, and deployment times.

The Nikana and the Dragon Nikana were claimed to be "something special" when obtained; that something special is 10k oxium and 15k oxium, respectively.  Yes, this is the price for a Moon Clan, but when taking into account original intent of "something special" being a simple resource grind... not much needs/can be said.

Hydroid himself is locked behing the Vay Hek event, the needed key taking over 20 runs pre-hotfix to construct, and the reward being, as much as I know currently, a random blueprint piece of the three needed to make a warframe.

Again, update 13 hasn't even come out for me yet, but rather than hiding behind SoonTm, it sits in front of me, mocking me.  But that's just the excited childish part in me speaking, slowly being replaced by the standard cynical realist.

You guys not grasping the whole logic behind DE's main goal: The goal is the grind.

You can think and imagine whatever you want.

The whole melee 2.0 another perfect example that the grind is the main concept for them to play the game.

If that's the case, they're doing a wonderful job.  My post is a plea to them that it isn't necessary though, and will hurt their brand more than it helps it.

The devs have stated multiple times in livestreams, in person, that they were surprised that the game induced so much grind and that they were taking steps, and will take future steps, to reduce grind as the grind was not what Warframe was all about.

Judging by what they've done recently, we can guess how successful they were on that point.

You can buy some dangly bits for your melee. Also a parrot skin.

Hypes Melee 2.0 makes combo mods godly rare

Hypes the new weapons two of them are behind grind wall of clan

Hypes New frame and vay hek puts the items to see and get them on new mobs that are hard to kill and drops are rare

Talks about taking out credits in Void up the % on cores

But this?  You've hidden what feels like a core game play mechanic behind one of these grinds, and that just isn't ok.  Sure, the hardcore players will still find them.

self-professed "hardcore" player here. 1000+ hours, mr15, have every weapon possible for me to acquire, used hundreds of forma

I did about 30 Nef Anyo runs before I started having serious deja vu from the whole Natural Talent bulls.h.i.t., where I farmed for 38 hours straight before it finally f.u.c.k.i.n.g. dropped

I might check it out in a week or two when they pull their heads out of each others asses and fix the drop rates, but this is just another in an endless saga of really dumb design decisions by DE. There are better games out there to play with more respectful developers.

edit: swear filters? seriously? what is this, a f.u.c.k.i.n kindergarten?

64 orokin cells.
enough Embers to fund my own private army.

8k mods blown up in transmutation.

Not a single stance mod. Scythe or otherwise.

"we dont want to make a farming game!" are once again empty words. im not going to even bother hunting down the crap for hydroid.

I think its finaly time i left warframe. ive had high hopes it would get better but all its doing is adding more flair to more work for less reward.

Thanks for holding my interest during Closed beta DE. but i think its time we broke up~

I don't know about anyone else but I feel like they gave up on the notion of "reduce the grind."

Its not all bad. There are still several aspects of combat in general that have been improved.

RNG sucks, i hate it, you hate it. All i have to show for my work thus far is ONE DAGGER stance. I've been trading prime parts for plat to see about buying what stances i can later. Though ill likely dive headlong into the farm again afterwork.

I find that while running around with just my sword, im thinking less and less about the farm itself.

Little by little i think, Warfarm is becoming Warframe again.

Wait, did they seriously up the rate for cores in the Void? I get them enough as it is while trying to get the infernal RP Chassis. I'm seriously glad we get these updates later, since stuff like this might kill the already small PS4 fanbase.

I came back for melee 2.0 and I'm loving it. The increased power of melee weapons and the ability to equip them is great, I feel like a space ninja instead of a poorly trained but acrobatic space soldier. But the rarity of stance mods is kinda crazy. I got lucky and bought one for a reasonable price from someone, but it's legit weird how hard it is to find them. Part of it may be that stances are, themselves, very small(Clashing Forest, the one I have, has one combo), so it's impossible to give out combos for free since you don't have all that many of them. But at the moment people feel like they're not engaging in Melee 2.0 because they don't get no combos to start with.
