Can Elbow Connectors And T Connectors Be Rotated Some How?

Was doing some dojo design and found it odd that there is only a right elbow, no left, an elevator but no up/down and the T only has a right and left option. There must be some trick to it?

The last time I built one there were two elevators one for up and one for down.
The other objects all rotate using the arrows overlaid on the left and right of them when you go to add a room to the dojo.

Ah okay i see it now, on the map there is a button, easy to miss, i think the elevator thing might be because I'm on the bottom floor already so its not displaying the other option.
