Best Warframe For Close Combat?

Hey I have played a couple of missions with some friends and I am always the player with the most melee kills. I love the charge hit and the overall attacking with the sword play style. Could anyone give me the top two war frames for melee and what are the best two weapons?

ash,excalibur and for the weapons its just personal prefference

Rhino, Ash and any heavy weapon or plasma sword if your using charge attacks

i have a rhino with an overpowered scindo, and i do most of the kills with just 1 charge attack, mostly 3 enemies at a time

Well, every frames are good but Rhino is maybe the most close combat warframe because of it's abilities.

Saryn is a solid melee frame. She has a melee steroid that doubles as rhino's Iron Skin (invulnerability), a PBAoE nuke/stun ult, and an instant-cast decoy to get away if things get too heavy. She also has very high health and shields as well as solid armor. The only thing she doesn't have is a mobility power like Rhino's charge or Excal's dash.

Any particular reasons why? So are weapons basicly esthetic only? Weapons do not affect play style?

weapons are not just esthetic. they differ a lot. i cant tell much about the other weapons but i am in love with my fangs :D

fastest attack speed and therefore insane damage with proper mods.

i like using melee attacks as well. mostly with saryn cause she is overpowered :D

loki is lots of fun in melee as well. turn invisible and kill everything :)

I dont have a lot of warframes but from the 3 i currently have i can say

Ash is definitely worth mentioning for close combat.

Why? His smoke screen+dual zoren is a lethal combination! Mad crit rate + insane speed ^^

Considering that each weapon is more/less effective against the different enemy types, and that their playstyle varies greatly it's very hard to say which is the absolute best. For example, the charge-strike on Gram reaps Infected like wheat but isn't all that good against Grineer or Corpus whereas the Fragor ignores armor making it very good against Grineer.

Charge up the iron skin and take out a rhino. Can't get much better than that.

Ash and nyx is quite good.

I'm using frost and his ability's they are OP for close combat and I've got a lot of different fusion'd skills and dual axes, they are pretty OP and I'd highly refer you to using frost if you want a fun combat and win with the highest score every game.

Heavy weapons, such as the Scindo, Gram, Fragor or Amphis have slow attack speed but high charge damage. When Rhino or Excalibur use their first abilities, the damage is based on the charge damage of the melee weapon.

The other melee weapons cover a wide range of statistical differences from medium charge damage with slower attack speeds, to super high attack speed with little charge damage.

Another major difference is the idea of slashing vs. bashing vs. piercing. Swords do better against infected because of the slashing damage type, whereas the piercing damage of daggers is better against grineer and other heavy armor targets.

Quick questions. Are the Furax any good? Noone has mentioned them. I like Gauntlet type weapons. Any particular reason why noone uses them? Don't want to make the mistake of buying them if they are bad.

The furax are awesome actually. I got to level 16 with them almost on accident.

i, myself find the furax to be not bad. so +1 on that comment.

tho, i honestly have to say, even tho i also like gauntlet type weapons, that they look hidious on any character so thumbs down for the looks
