anavn Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 In the last 2,3 updates we have had new tilestes, enmies, bosses and mission types. The DE keaps packing them all in 1 bock and this is becoming a bit rediculous. They could use the exact same content on a new planet. Like this we keep the bosses and maps we loved and see new planets open. What is your opinion on this ?
.Talia. Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 (edited) I think DE plans is to have a unique tileset for each planet. My opinion on this? I don't think that's ridiculous at all, i think they should continue with their schedule until all planets have a unique tileset and enemy types, and revamp all bosses that are placeholder, and only after that they go ahead and create new planets. CryoClaw Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 i would love to see every planet have its own tileset ... because the spaceships are already repetitive ...
VentiGlondi Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 My opinion is that we have the same tilesets on multiple planets and that's why they're remaking planets one by one. Oh wait, that's not an opinion.
OriVerda Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 (edited) i would love to see every planet have its own tileset ... because the spaceships are already repetitive ... Says you. Back in my day we were content with having only the Corpus ship. Having the Grineer asteroid was fun but my favorite all time map is the Corpus ship. Now, in the future and forever. I could play all day. The old ones without the new algorithms anyway. Edited April 12, 2014 by OriVerda
Morec0 Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 i would love to see every planet have its own tileset ... because the spaceships are already repetitive ... Same. Of course, certain tilesets (ships, asteroids) could show up in everyone from time to time, but each planet should DEFINATELY have it's own unique look to some effect - i.e., the dirst of phobos, the forests of earth, and now the shipyards on Ceres. There are PLENTY of potential designs to go around, AND to add to new planets.
Tyranness Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 Honestly there could be multiple Tilesets for the same planet if they wished.
avinity8 Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 I love that theyre doing new tiles. Been playing since August, so everything was the same except for desert Phobos. Now we have new Jupitor, Earth and Ceres. They showed images of new Void tilesets, which look nice from I saw from that stream. Since all voids are the same, with OD having the derelict theme/skin to them. More uniqueness, cant wait for more. Earth and Ceres are my fav tiles atm.
at35z Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 Keep in mind that there's a LIMIT, once they will create the whole solar system, and adding fantasy ones would make no sense.
direcyphre Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 I for one welcome the future where all the planets have their own tilesets. Yes, it is happening eventually.
Morec0 Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 Keep in mind that there's a LIMIT, once they will create the whole solar system, and adding fantasy ones would make no sense. I'm assuming that the Infested Ship will be a fantasy, plus they're not at risk of running out anytime soon. We've got plenty of moons that can be used to fill it up. Plus I'm sure that, EVENTUALLY, we'll get a second solar system. We've got more than one in our galaxy, after all. Hell, maybe it could come with the fourth "least humanoid" race that they mentioned in a past livestream?
The_Traitor_Executioner Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 The way I understand it is that this is the goal of the Solar Rails - to reach other parts of the solar system sooner or later, and new planets.
avinity8 Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 Yea they been mentioned a new solar system and sneak peek of a water tilset. Didnt ref if the water map would be a redo of a previous planet or part of the new solar system tho. Plus infested are coming back, their homeworld I believe. So the new solar will have stuff like that.
CryoClaw Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 Says you. Back in my day we were content with having only the Corpus ship. The old ones without the new algorithms anyway. i'll have you know i was playing warframe in early closed beta ... where you only fought grineer (nope no corpus) the days where all there was was the grineer ship layout and well the basic grineer enemies i think you can figure why i stopped back then

Being content with something doesn't mean it isn't a million times better to have them all be unique.

Didnt ref if the water map would be a redo of a previous planet or part of the new solar system tho. Have absolutely no idea where you heard or saw any of that. Plus infested are coming back, their homeworld I believe. So the new solar will have stuff like that. They will be added invested ships/hive ships. Not a "homeworld." And again, idk where you're pulling "new system" from, because they have never talked about adding a new system yet.
Babellon Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 Back in my day lol, this made me laugh a little, jus coz....*back in my day, we played wackasaur*, its ok if you don't know that game, only us old cavemen remember it. those were the days, running around with clubs chasing V raptors for sport. lol ok Im done, just made me laugh is all.

This sums up my feelings on the matter quite well. Keep in mind that there's a LIMIT, once they will create the whole solar system, and adding fantasy ones would make no sense. There is an entire galaxy to chose from the only limit is how many maps DE can come up with. They will be added invested ships/hive ships. Not a "homeworld." And again, idk where you're pulling "new system" from, because they have never talked about adding a new system yet. When DE first told us about the forth race they said that they would get their own area and not replace any of the current grineer or corpus maps I don't remember if DE said they were getting their own solar system or just a new planet to base off of but that is most likely where avinity8 heard that we would get a new solar system.

More like assumed we'd get a new system. But yeah, I recall the stuff about new areas for the new faction.
DJ_Redwire Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 (edited) Think of the star chart as a multiplayer campaign mode. I can't recall any 'complete' games where you travel to different locations as you progress through the campaign mode where several of the 'new' locations you come to have the same map and enemies. I totally want to see a unique tile set per planet, and I hope that is DE's full intention to fulfill. Edited April 12, 2014 by DJ_Redwire
CandyDragon Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 They should scrap everything and return to the old "only corpus tileset" vanilla.
8bit_Ghost Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 I'm pretty glad that they keep making new tilesets. It makes each planet feel like a new one. I remember when I got to the corpus outpost for the first time...and loved it so much. Then I found out that there were only 4 tilesets in the game at the time ahaha. But then Void came out and that was awesome. The Void is STILL the one tileset that I never get sick of. Shipyards are becoming a close second, though... Having variety in levels and design and different places to visit is such a great thing. We currently have 5 "ship" tilesets (Asteroid level isn't much of a ship, and Tower and Derelict don't feel like ships either), and 4 planet tilesets (Corpus Outpost, Grineer Outpost, Forests, and Shipyards. That's 9 unique tilesets in TOTAL. That's...pretty few considering how many levels there are. This is also not including the fact that 2 of these tilesets are not on main planets. Right now there are only 3 planets with unique tilesets. The other 4 make guest appearances on every single planet (which makes no sense for a few considering that not EVERY planet can possibly be icy and cold). I don't know what your reasoning for wanting new planets entirely, but my guess is hopes of higher-level enemies and more levels to work up mastery.

Your choice not accept it, you sound foolish saying you have no idea when I referenced the source..... I dnt even watch streams, but I read the summaries and brief parts on the youtube uploads... Pay more attention.

I was correlating the summaries of the streams that they post on the forums, here when they thank us for watching, along with the videos they upload to youtube, from their streams...
