Datamass With No Secondary Equipped

I was playing with a group of friends today and we stumbled upon a bug that if a Tenno with no equipped secondary picks up a datamass (we were doing spy missions) that the datamass will just be absorbed into their soul.

 

The game still counts the datamass as being collected, but there is no way for that character to drop them again and they can use their primary weapon just like nothing ever happened.

It seems there is more to this bug, if anyone without a secondary absorbs a datamass and then dies, the datamass is deleted and the mission can't be completed.

I ran a solo Spy alert without a secondary and died once near the end, upon reaching extraction I was promted to bring all 4 datamasses despite having collected all 4, they also did not drop upon death and were presumably deleted upon revival.
