Reason Why Warframe Is Unplayable (Atm)

there has been a distributed denial-of-service (DDos) attack against warframe!!!!!!

Distributed denial of service attacks on root nameservers are internet events in which distributed denial-of-service attacks target one or more of the thirteen Domain Name System root nameserver clusters. The root nameservers are critical infrastructure components of the Internet, mapping domain names to Internet Protocol (IP) addresses and other resource record (RR) data.
Attacks against the root nameservers could, in theory, impact operation of the entire global Domain Name System, and thus all Internet services that use the global DNS, rather than just specific websites. However, in practice, the root nameserver infrastructure is highly resilient and distributed, using both the inherent features of DNS (result caching, retries, and multiple servers for the same zone with fallback if one or more fail), and, in recent years, a combination of anycast and load balancer techniques used to implement most of the thirteen nominal individual root servers as globally distributed clusters of servers in multiple data centers.
In particular, the caching and redundancy features of DNS mean that it would require a sustained outage of all the major root servers for many days before any serious problems were created for most Internet users, and even then there are still numerous ways in which ISPs could set their systems up during that period to mitigate even a total loss of all root servers for an extended period of time: for example by installing their own copies of the global DNS root zone data on nameservers within their network, and redirecting traffic to the root server IP addresses to those servers. Nevertheless, DDoS attacks on the root zone are taken seriously as a risk by the operators of the root nameservers, and they continue to upgrade the capacity and DDoS mitigation capabilities of their infrastructure to resist any future attacks.
An effective attack against DNS might involve targeting top-level domain servers (such as those servicing the .com domain) instead of root name servers. Alternatively, a man-in-the-middle attack or DNS poisoning attack could be used, though they would be more difficult to carry out.

As letter13 said "Be patient while DE upgrades the Orokin Hamsters with Prime variants!"

If people can't find out what's happening by reading the hundreds of posts about this and their replies, this probably won't help them either.

I had yet to read a topic about the issue...

I don't know why anyone would target Warframe, this is crazy.

-cough-

...warframe vs. smite...

-cough-

DISCLAIMER: I am not one who believes that some angry Smite fanboys orchestrated this DDOS.

Well cant say im anghry about it, happens.

What i dislike is that i boosted my Valkyr to 30 today and it didnt save, so back to rank 8, not a big deal tho (thank you uneqip trick !)

Also any idea how this will work with our booster ? i must have missed at least 5h of my drop chance booster because of the problems haha.

And... No proof. Anyone can post a wiki article. There is no offical posting about this. However, the game is unplayable right now. Yes, I can log in and play a mission but after going to the exit, it does the little animation for fleeing the map.. Then my team is instantly kicked back onto the map, black screened, killed by the spawns with no way to do anything about, loosing all XP and rewards. But as for this DDoS hack, I'd take it at a grain of salt without an offical statement of some kind. Besides, anyone that's been playing Warframe for a decent bit of time knows from experience this isn't new and most likely will occur again and again. That's the perk of endless-beta.

Yes I see it now..

This thread will be updated with any reports of significance.

FAQ:

"What about my (time sensitive booster)?"

Rest assured we will be compensating anyone who purchased a booster and is affected by these interruptions. Full details to follow." -DERebecca
