Double Jump, What Do You Think?

I hope we all know what a double jump is - you jump and if you hit jump again while in the air you bounce a bit higher.

I think warframe should have a double jump it would spice up the acrobatic fighting elements that are clearly going to be further developed in the future if wallrunning etc is any indication.

To balance it out I think a double jump should come at the cost of some stamina - you double jump and say 20% of your stamina goes away.

What do you think? :)

we've already got flip jumps from crouch and wall running

double jumping is like magical, and the Tenno aren't magical

ok maybe in ONE circumstance, I think Excal's super jump power should be usable while in mid-air

thus Excal ALONE would have a double jump (until they add another frame with similar mobility options)

of course on a not-so-sidenote, ALL powers should be able to be activated in mid-air

I'm sure you've heard of the quote that any technology sufficiently advanced is indestinguishable from magic.

Don't tell me the current Tenno powers don't already look magical to you? :P

The double jump could be released with a small burst of energy from the feet or something.

It would fit the parkour style better, since you could pretty much ignore every staircase now just by double jumping and grabbing the railing and hopping up.

That said, you're going to ruin a lot of the navigational obstacles like the cargo crate gap on grineer maps with this

no no no no, try to jump while in mid-air in real life. its impossible, the devs have to make the game realistic. and double jumping is fantasy magic, not realistic. and wwe already have super jump on excalibur and jumps from wallrunning,sliding and other stuff.

just imagining a double jump... doesnt fit, so please no

EDIT: besides, tenno are space ninjas. not superman. so no jetpacks, rocket boots, double jump or any of that stuff wouldnt fit in this game. if only i could post a youtube video that shows the big 'NO' i wanna say...

If double jumping is magic, then so is pulling 10 skanas out of your &#! and throwing them with enough force to pin giant hunks of metal to walls. And so is instantly vaporizing the weapons of everyone in the room AND NOTHING ELSE. And so is punching the ground to deal damage to EVERYTHING BUT THE GROUND. And so is creating a green energy bubble that absorbs bullets and explodes.

BUT SCREW ALL OF THAT BRO, IT'S DOUBLE-JUMPING THAT BREAKS YOUR SUSPENSION OF DISBELIEF

this isnt a cartoonish little kid game ''BRO''. its supposed to be realistic. and all that you just mentioned is more possible than double jumping, just imagen it in warframe, doesnt fit int. and excalibur already has super jump. we got wallrunning/jumping, and flips from sliding. besides nobody really uses the parkour elements anyways that can help even better and double jump simply doesnt fit and is magic.

try jumping in mid-air in real life, impossible. smashing the ground and creating a shockwave is more possible.

I'd love to see the double-tapping moves as seen in Unreal Tournament 2003 (and UT2k4)... it just seems to fit into WF perfectly. I find myself subconsciously doubletapping all the time in Warframe, and then I realize a split second later that it doesn't work in this game. It becomes second nature so quickly from playing UT that it is now ingrained into my reflex actions.

It would be awesome to doublejump sideways into a wall which then launches yourself sideways into the opposite direction while airborne, or even the simple double-tap forwards for a quick lunge, backwards for a quick reverse, and sideways for a dodging strafe. I find myself in situations all the time where those moves would be very useful, not to mention that they're cool looking space ninja-style moves. And as in UT, for the people who prefer not to use the feature, it can be toggled on/off in the options menu and there could be a slider for "double tap time" to tailor each individuals preferences.

If DE could manage to incorporate that, it would be win-win for everyone imo.

What's so magical about this mechanical armor having small thrusters in the boots to boost you after the initial jump? Are those arguing it's too 'magical' truly believing what they say? Or using the nonsensical argument purely for the purpose of arguing? You're telling me teleportation is more 'realistic' than small thrusters? Seriously? If you don't like the concept, fine, but your opinion will likely hold more weight if you don't resort to silly straw man arguments.

I don't think it's too magical. I just think it would break the game, requiring them to redesign all the current tilesets, and it just wouldn't fit. Ninjas don't double jump, they use awesome parkour. That last is just my opinion. The first is a fact

Tell me what purpose this ability would serve? Your salto lifts you already that high that a double jump is simply a waste.
