An Idea For Making Solar Rail Conflicts More Interesting (Duels) ~

Yes, duels.

 

vvv This part is not terribly important. vvv

 

A single clan is elected (yes, ELECTED) to be the "Presiders." The role comes with nothing but the title, and the clan is not allowed to deploy any rails of their own. Monthly reelections maybe?

 

The role of the Presiders is to provide a room for these duels I'm talking about (it will be similar to a dueling room, but will be larger and more... sophisticated).

Two clans engaged in conflict may queue (or reserve a time slot) for the Presiders' dueling room. Once it is free, up to 5 representatives (they'll just watch the fight) from each clan, and a single Champion, again from each clan, must enter the room. If a time is agreed upon and reserved, and a clan fails to provide a champion in time, that clan automatically loses the rail. As far as hosting goes, I'm sure DE could figure it out. Must be lagless!

 

Once both clans and their Champions have arrived, they get into position and the Champions duel each other. This can be a single match, or best 2 out of 3, whatever. Champions will be provided with a special set of "ceremonial" gear (very basic weapons, but very very ornate in appearance - melee only, perhaps).

 

But yeah, whoever wins the duel wins the node in question for their clan. This can potentially solve conflicts a lot faster, and we all want that, no? We get some awesome diisplays of honor, too!

TL;DR allow Solar Rail conflicts to be resolved by a single duel between Champions from opposing clans.

calm down its been a week, and duels ? NO, NO  PVP IN WF EVER PLEASE :D

 

 There is already PvP in Warframe. Saying this doesn't mean anything now.

 

 

 

 But, honestly OP, I'm not interested in Duels being rolled into Solar Rails. It's a cute idea, but it'd be crap in practice.

It means something in context. I don't want PvP to be part of anything important like solar rails or end game content, either.

 

DE could make a dozen conclave-like mini games without impacting that.

Without PVP being balanced, a fight versus another frame always has the potential to be incredibly unfair, controlled by another player or not. (By AI, fights against a trinity often result in one or more deaths in rail fights. In PVP, balance gets even worse...)

The idea sounds cool, but dude we really don't want PVP. We don't want to hand more wood to the fire already burning from all the people who are like... FIX PVP!!! MAKE IT BALANCED!!! PAY TO WIN!!! blah blah blah. Seriously we need to quell that fire. Because if you make a PVP Dark Sector things will just go overboard.

 

Not the best idea in the world, but a nice one to have thought of. Maybe in another game.
