How About Replacing Valkyrs Paralysis?

Just a thought here, what about replacing Paralysis with a lunge?

By a lunge I mean the warframe could leap in the targeted direction within a set range.

The lunge could have a similar AoE knockdown to paralysis at present, but without stripping shields unecessarily.

To make emphasise Valkyrs melee status, enemies knocked down by the lunge could count towards the melee combo. Perhaps even just as one combo count just to prevent the bonus decay.

It could be useful as extra mobility to the frame and in keeping the combo stacks up. You could use ripline as larger distance mobility and for, "get over here!". Whereas you could use the lunge as a short range mobility and, "here's Johnny!".

The extra mobility couldn't hurt Valkyr and she doesn't really need the damage you can achieve with paralysis.

Thoughts? Or other replacements?

Paralysis when maximized does as much as an unmaximized ult... For very little cost, but can be used in hysteria... it's good for a maximized AoE while hysteria is active... But... It's not that much damage, and halves in power each use until your shields regenerate...

I do agree, a lunge or maybe something like a spinning strike in place would be good.

I actually quite like Paralysis, it could do with a little bit of a range boost but seeing as it opens a group of enemies up for finishers for the whole team, kills weak enemies and can be used during Hysteria so shield loss isn't an issue. I think it should be kept.

Also as already mentioned Rip Line can be used for Mobility. I'd prefer if Rip Line was changed to drag you to enemies were Valkyr lands on them claws them a few times knocking them down for damage.

Equally however, Hysteria movement speed and attacks need a little tweak for faster response and more fluidity.

The only problem with paralysis is its incredibly short range.

The stun itself works quite well, but again if you don't have at least stretch on you will have to be in melee range to do anything.

Note:

I've just realized the stun on paralysis is strangely long considering I don't have any duration mods and that people complain it's too short, which leads me to believe it's actually affected by power strenght (which I have maxed out by the way.).

Just thought this info may be useful to such a discussion.

Paralysis has it's uses if you build for it. I think ripline should be replaced with this lunge to more quickly cover ground an get to the fight. Ripline only pulls you to something fixed, enemies get pulled to you, one at a time even. The ability to "lunge" into the fray seems fitting for her.

Yes, but building for paralysis is conpletely different to building to make Valkyr useful. The power is just a bit useless in a traditional/viable melee valkyr build. I don't know any regular valkyr users that regularly use this power, but I do know a couple that have formad this power mod slot out.

Having a lunge with knockdown would achieve the same knockdown effect as paralysis, but double as a movement power and would not require a specific build to be useful.

Stop it, I like my long range rip line. Just adjust it so when we hold down the ability key we keep going on the line.

It was never my intention to remove ripline?
