I'd like to suggest something that many games nowadays seem to overlook: The ability to manually set which of your audio devices you want the game to output it's sound through---independent of Windows' driver settings.

Often while gaming---Warframe certainly being no exception to this---I like to listen to music from my computer's library, but I find that having both my music and the game's sound through the same speakers simply obscures both. This is why I have both my headset for gaming, and a stand alone speaker system through which I listen to my music.

However, Warframe will only output through my default device forcing me to choose between my music or the game's audio---Having both through the same speakers is just not doing justice to either of them.

Once upon a time this was considered standard in gaming... What happened?

I second this!

It is a pain to switch audio out in Warframe. There are times I want Warframe on my headset and everything else on my speakers, or through my TV, etc and having to restart and edit the EE.cfg every time I change is a bit of a pain.

For those who want to manually change their audio output to a different device, Go to you EE.cfg (It should be in your local appdata - C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Warframe for Vista/7) and open it in Notepad. Locate Sound.DeviceId=0 and change to 1 or 2, or until you work out which audio output is the one you want.

Hope this helps until DE add it in.

It is possible, using a bit of computer know-how :) It's also easier if you have Realtek drivers

Set your headphones as the default sound-output and the speakers as secondary, then:

Then just make sure your headphones are plugged in and turned on, then open WF, which will output it's sound through said headphones, then if you want music, just put the headphones down or mute them, and open your media player!
