Ardorax Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 (edited) QUESTION HAS BEEN ANSWERED So if I read it right ... spare parts (a mod for your sentinel) now gives you the chance of a rare resource drop ... if the sentinel dies ...? Uhm so it never increased the regular drop rate of resources to begin with (I am unaware if the description was never right or the mod was altered) But if it did increase resource drop rate .... then is this an attempt to increase grind more and tempt you into buying more plat? Cause think about it, the whole idea I think(tought) for using spare parts was to increase the frequency that resources drop with. Aka making it very usefull for farming, and giving you a even bigger reason to keep the sentinel alive. Can anyone else clarify on this? Edited April 24, 2014 by JackStalka
BrotherIcarus Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 It never increased drop rates. It has always given you a chance of a single resource drop when you sentinel is killed.

Syzodia Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 I honestly don't know how you can misinterpret the mod description like that but apparently it was severe enough to be revised. it never did buff resource drop rates from killed mobs - it only buffed/added a drop rate to your sentinel dropping a rare resource.

Syzodia Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 You do know this was its previous description right? : Even so, the picture was a dead give away to me. Fair enough....
--Sokol Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 (edited) "Spare parts" *An image of a dead sentinel* "Item drop chance" How can this mean you get bigger drop rates in general? It should be so obvious what it does. Your sentinel dies -> you have X% chance of a rare resource to drop off of it (thus, spare parts name). Edited April 24, 2014 by Cerberus_Sokol

Points to this > That's how it read previously so hence why it confuzed me
Ammolds Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 (edited) You do know this was its previous description right? : Let's analyze the mod to understand (yes we already know, but bear with me) what this exactly could mean. A. Mods that affect the environment or your interaction with the environment are normally Warframe mods. B. Yes, "+% Item Drop Chance" is vague. C. Lets look at the mod image now. These are picked to represent the mods function in a "A picture says a thousand words" way. It's an exploding sentinel. *cough* *cough* D. Name of the mod is "Spare Parts". Really, I would like to know how this translates to a general drop chance increase mod, over a "Sentinel dies and may drop something". PS. Let's be honest here. What are the chances that DE will give us a mod that increases drop rates? EDIT: Okay the resource and rare part is far from obvious, got ahead of myself, but the point remains the same (edited the conclusion) Edited April 24, 2014 by Ammolds
Harbingie Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 (edited) Don't know why anyone could have a problem with this. The more you leveled the mod,the more the chance your Sentinel would give you an item on death.Rank 1-On death only 7,5% out of 100%,that it will drop something. The mod was always about your Sentinel dropping you something or dropping anything at all,for that matter, like an enemy would, when it dies.Precisely. The whole reason behind it was that I used when I first got it ... and felt that drop rates in general increased so hence why I was confuzled.
catastrophy Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 I had to look it up in the wiki as well. The picture only mildly irritated me - I wanted to know what was meant with "item". But I had a good laugh when I realised what the mod is really about.

If you are uncertain of what a mod does, you can always look it up on wiki or ask in forums or in game. If this mod would do what you initially thought it does, everyone would try to kill their own sentinel and you wouldn't see one in game ever. xD
Rydian Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 "I don't see how people confused this." "It;s obvious it meant this the whole time." "Nobody could have confused that." If DE felt the need to change the wording, then obviously a number of people didn't understand it the first time.
