Warframe: The Anime

So, my buddies and I love playing Warframe and we love the small bits of story/codex that help tie all the factions together and such, but we feel like there could be so much more story to this and be something truly epic. Something that can dive deeper into the history of the Tenno, Corpus and Grineer; why did the war start? What happened to Earth and humans that turned them into the monstrosities they've become; the origins of all the different warframes/Tenno. Enter Warframe: The Anime.

 

This is what we came up with. If DE could work together with an animation company to make their own anime, we could have a bit of a prequel/spin off story that revolves around a small cast of Tenno that are fighting to preserve balance in the solar system, a balance threatened by the constant warring between the Corpus and Grineer. As each episode unfolds, we would get a look into the past of each of the different Tenno and their abilities. We could jump back even farther and see how the Tenno came to be. And for a cool side note we could even dedicate some screen time to the origin story of the Stalker and various faction leaders. As the anime ran out of history lessons for us to enjoy they could easily transport the story to the "present day" narrative of the actual happenings of the game. Plot devices like the Tenno have a dissension amongst themselves about the best way to keep the balance leading to the Tenno fighting amongst themselves for the dark sectors; the Corpus/Grineer invasions and the Infestations. All of this has so much potential to give Warframe a new depth of story and character. Think Halo Legends, but Warframe.

 

The tip on this iceberg has enough in it to sink the titanic and my friends and I feel like it is something that is completely doable. I know the game is still in Open Beta phase, but realistically it has become big enough of a game to compete with completed MMOs. That in itself is a pretty big accomplishment. So give me some feedback, show this to your friends, get this thread moving and see if we can spur DE into making this happen someday.

With all due respect i liek the idea, but the problem with anime renditions is that they tend to sour, because a game and an anime are two very different art forms/ medias. Look at bayonetta, which was a let down (talking about the anime, the game rocks).

If Warframe would be turned into watchable media of some sort I would much rather it be made into a CGI-animated series.  Essentally, it would be completely computer-animated, with no hand drawn art(in the finished product.  That may have been what you had in mind though. 

 

A better option for a warframe related series might be one that picks up where Dark Sector finishes, following what happens to Hayden Tenno and explaining what happened to him.  This way it won't step on the actual Warframe game.  Another option would be to do something like how the universe of Defiance works.  Essentally you would have the game and the show set in two locations that are connected, but not so much that both components stand on their own. 

 

That said, DE really has their plate full with fleshing the game out as a whole and making ANY kind of animated show is an incredible amount of work.  When the game is feature complete and established to the point where it's able to stand without regular updates, then I would be fine with DE expanding Warframe into a completely different media type.

The origin of different warframes would for the most part take place in the Orokin vs Sentient War era, so that's where you'd be looking for that. 

 

But yeah, it would depend all on if DE were to be willing to open up to another studio taking their lore and creating another form of media for the universe. 

 

 

... Then again, Halo has made a lot of surplus cash via their books, anime, miniseries, and I bet they'll make more with their full blown live-action series coming up.

I kinda agree, because if we do a chibi version, it would take away some of seriousness that is in game, which I think DE will never change (except in Easter, halloween). But in the other hand, A chibi version at some episodes could idk, break that line of seriousness xD idk really

What if they just made a small OVA for starters that follows the creation of each warframe? You know just to test the waters. Maybe even making a new episode each time a new frame comes out if it's popular enough. And then of course hopefully leading to a fully fledged anime that follows all of the current lore and explains it in more detail.

Maybe it could be 

 

3 centuries ago

 

Lotus was their computer.

 

The humans are fighting each other in space, The protagonists- one/three guy and/or one girl are normal but they are no match against the Grineer so they find a Tenno lab and could gain the suits of Excalibur, Mag, Loki and Rhino and with weapons like Skana, Lato, MK1-Braton and the Glaive.

 

The Corpus invade in the middle of the fight against Tenno and Grineer then more suits like Frost,Ember, Volt & Saryn.

Sentinels were created to help the Tenno.

The fight ended and alot of Grineer, Corpus and Tenno died.

 

More weapons were created and the Dual Wields were formed.

 

Something created a Virus that changed beings into the Infested, now has come to kill factions.

The Tenno thought they need more strength and created Nyx, Ash, Trinity & Banshee.

The Tenno also thought of creating new helmets to sacrifice stats to increase them.

The virus stopped but there were signs of it still out there.

 

When the factions went to look for the virus to make sure it's gone, they discovered keys.

They searched deeper and the keys reacted into the Void.

Some of the virus came to the Void but were taken over by the Orokin and got Corrupted.

The Tenno was no match against the Orokin.

The Tenno collected materials and created Excalibur, Mag, Frost, Rhino & Ember Primes.

Also creating the primes of weapons, especially the Glaive Prime.

Now bringing more warframe Vauban, Nova, Nekros and Valkyr and changing the keys into Clan keys and Changing Orokin places into Clan Dojos.

The Tenno defended against the Orokin.

 

One war even bigger than the last occurs in space between Grineer, Corpus, Infested, Orokin and the Tenno.

The Tenno bring more warframes of Oberon, Zephyr & Hydroid.

With new weapons as well as old weapons being changed into the Wraiths and Vandals along with other special forms of weapons.

A weapon used to take over the solar system was created.

The Protagonists (which were at the start) try to help and sacrificed themselves to destroy the weapon with their full power and potential.

The weapon killed them and just scattered around materials and blueprints.

Obliterating almost all parts of the factions,

Lotus loses memory.

Grineer sent to Uranus.

Corpus sent to Neptune.

Infested sent to Jupiter.

Orokin sent back to the Void.

Tenno managed to survive and kept in cryopods.

The weapon sealed everything, changing to a more normal life.

The seal cracked and parts leaked out.

 

When Dark Sector came.

 

Hayden tenno found the Excalibur suit and discovered others.

 

3 centuries later

 

The seal broke

Councilor Vay Hek

Alad V

and Phorid came to try to take over the solar system again

Lotus hears about this and calls forth the Tenno to fight again.

As more things come Lotus gains more memory.

Warframes are still being created to improve the Tenno race.

And more stuff begin to happen.
