How Exactly Does Ranking Up A Mod Work?

Question

Posted

I'm hesitant to level up my Blind rage which is sitting on rare 6 atm because it takes 896 cores and 1.3m (1 300 950) but to level up a brand new one, it takes 924 cores and about 1.4m (1 389 159)

Are the first 6 ranks really that useless?

Same with serration.

742 cores and 950k credits to get from unranked to max.

729 cores and 922k credits to get from uncommon 5 - max

527 cores and 500k credits to get from uncommon 9 - max.

But with the blind rage, I just feel it seems like a better thing to max it completely from unrank since it's taking almost the same amount of cores to go from rare 6 - 10 as it would from unranked to rare 10.

any thoughts?

Maxed mods are valuable. Yes, they are expensive to level and in most situations are completely unnecessary for normal play but if you have the cores and the credits, why the hell not. It gives you an edge on everyone else not using one and while this is not a pvp game, it is still very much satisfying to be playing with a fully soup-uped frame and weapons. My advice is go for it. Money are absolutely meaningless if you don't use it. And besides, with the dark sectors opened, you can make millions in a matter of hours now. Cores are little bit tougher to get but still you can play a few void survivavals and you'll get a decent stockpile.

the ranking up of cores is pretty exponentially I think, every level needs double of that before.

is it worth it? that's up for you to decide. it's all down to how much time and effort you want to put into leveling something.

if you're still a starting member, I'd advice not to go beyond rank 5 or 6 on most lv10 mods, because you need the money and cores for other stuff as well.

ranking up lv10 mods is kinda one of those things people do when they have little else left to do :3

in the long run it's certainly worth it, but it does also kinda require applying forma to weapons and frames to make full use of them (and other stuff)

another thing. if you get a redirection for example, if you max that in rank, you can sell that for a sh*tload of plat. ya its expensive, but you can farm credits, not plat.
