The Aura mod are mods of team. In team play (4 players) the aura mod allow some prior planning strategy regarding the capabilities to be used.

However, this planning is limited by the polarities of the Aura mod. I think the aura mod should have a single polarity. Thus, one could use any aura Warframe mod, depending on the needs of your team.

Sorry for my English.

I've got solution of my own: as I can't decide between  Dash(line, -) and V aura polarities for my Nekros, I am building another one. This way I will be able to pick almost every aura with double capacity :) It's 2 days left on the building time btw :D

Just curious, with this idea, how many mod points should everyone get from this?  (0, 7, 14, 18?)  It sounds like the desire is to have a guaranteed amount of mod power added, regardless of what aura is selected.  I'm not sure that I agree with the suggestion, since this is already implemented in some fashion.

Excalibur and Nekros have no aura polarity, giving them the flexibility to select any aura, but not granting bonus power for matching polarities.  The other frames can match polarity for increased power, but they can choose a mismatched polarity if they can handle the loss in power and don't want/need to forma the slot.  I don't necessarily see this system as a problem, but a wider selection of auras with different polarities could make things more interesting.

Wouldn't be to bad after all... No more forma'ing the Aura slot... and no more discouraging people from using certain Aura's because of how your build wouldn't work anymore with less mod points available.

But I guess that's against the intention DE has...

Answer: the same points now, according to the type of mod Aura.

I was wondering if you had the doubled or non-doubled value in mind.  Excalibur and Nekros already have a universal slot, so they don't suffer a penalty for a mismatched polarity or get a bonus for a matched polarity.  I see the reasons why people would want a universal polarity ("I want more mod power.", "I want to pick any aura.", "I want both!"), but it also seems like it's a request to remove the significance of polarities.

The current system hasn't bothered me and it adds some extra differentiation between the warframes.  It's like giving each frame a bit of character.

Rhino - Rifle Amp: "RAWR!!!" *DAKKA DAKKA*

Valkyr - Steel Charge: "Who do I have to punch to get a mod around here?!"

Trinity - Physique: "I heard you like health, so..."

Universal auras would make the choice feel empty and meaningless to me.  If I encounter a polarity that doesn't match my preference, it gives me a chance to try out some alternatives and see how well a build will work if I have to adjust around it.  If I can't get the build to work and need a forma, so be it.

I'm not convinced that this would significantly change teamplay.  Sure, it makes it simple to swap auras around, but certain ones are very popular.  ("meh.  Just throw on E. Siphon and be done with it.")  In most of the public matches I'm in, nobody is communicating, so there isn't any discussion on what aura may or may not benefit the team.  In private matches with my clan, we can easily discuss strategies and auras become a non-issue.

Add in a new, universal polarity that can only be created via use of specific rare forma and only applied to a slot that has been forma'd by player before. And once applied it makes this slot match any polarity. Problem solved.

Yaay! More grind! While we're at it, if you die while playing a frame, you lose all polarities on it too!

Also you get double mod slots and capacity is you play 213 missions in a row without dying or aborting

The difference between right aura polarity and wrong aura polarity is 13 (steel charge in V vs something else in V aura) points at most.

At 78 vs 65 points, this is highly neglectible for anything but min-maxing purposes.

Considering you have a reactor in, you could have an alternative build on B or C with the wrong aura polarity and still make the frame useful.

Of course, if you dont have a reactor in, this indeed becomes a problem at 48 vs 35 points, but you're supposed to reactor what you use often anyway, right.

So yeah, I'd rather see them allowing you to swap the polarity from and to the Aura slot (once you put one forma into the frame elsewhere). I know why they dont let that happen currently, but it would help with build flexibility.

I just find it annoying how most frames I've gotten have the polarity for Steel Charge, even on frames like Ember where you'd expect to want to use your abilities rather often.  It feels as if the default polarities for some frames were chosen to be as inconvenient as possible.
