Orokin Drones Ignore Melee Hits

....and I do believe they always have been. Osprey drones can usually be killed by aerial spin attack, even Corpus cameras and Galleon magnetic doors can be destroyed by wall attack, but direct melee hits (except thrown weapons) on Orokin drones always pass through without doing any damage.

 

This could prevent completion of tower exterminate mission when player only has close-combat melee weapon equipped.

I've had the same problem. Go into Exterminate with only melee for leveling and can't kill the drones and I hadn't had energy siphon equipped.

Same problem. This is completely new. I used Jump spin and slice Drone like a BOSS!

Finally figured this out. Got stuck in a tower 3 exterminate with only melees.... with lki its simple and i assume this will work with other warframes as well. Jump up and slam the ground after using radial disarm. It takes freaking forever but it slowly knocks off life. About 25 per hit. Finally finished the mission!

Yeah, leap attack AoE does work but not every melee weapon has sufficient range or any at all (Nikana).
