Babellon Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 (edited) Why is there a time limit to reach extraction at the end of certain sabotage missions but not on others? why is there a time limit at all? Am I required to speed to the extraction for no apparent reason? Is it not ok to simply take my time and kill spawns and loot chests on my way to extraction? I'm running solo missions, I'm not holding up a group, no one is waiting for me to reach extraction. There is no reason for these timers. Im busy killing and looting, I don't notice the timer tucked up in the corner off my screen. Why is it there? for what reason am I being forced to rush to extraction on a solo mission? shouldn't I be able to sit on a map and play it as long as i want to? Im getting tired of failed missions because some arbitrary and pointless time limit ran out. Edited April 29, 2014 by -LTO-Malachi
Corrupted_Ertai Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 1. What mission? 2. Was it in Nightmare mode?
LordMidnightX Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 um you just destroyed something and the ship is going to blow up...good reason to run fast
WetAedeagus Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 - Blow up the reactor core - Casually stroll around as the spaceship explodes with you inside
Gelkor Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 um you just destroyed something and the ship is going to blow up...good reason to run fast Pretty much this, the Lotus even spells it out for you.
Babellon Posted April 29, 2014 Author Posted April 29, 2014 um you just destroyed something and the ship is going to blow up...good reason to run fast - Blow up the reactor core - Casually stroll around as the spaceship explodes with you inside I get that aspect of it, How ever its not on all the sabotage missions on board a ship, and in the case of this last one, on saturn, it was on the planet. Theres no warning of the timer, lotus doesn't say "oh the ship is going to self destruct", she says, good job tenno. so with no further cue to hurry up I don't feel compelled to rush out. The clock is neatly tucked away so I don't even notice it till Ive stopped a moment and looked up at the corner of the screen. then, oh look i've got 10 seconds and im on the other side of the map. If they're going to put in this sort of thing there needs to be some sort of visual cue, some audio feedback " good work tenno, the ship/base is self destructing, better get to extraction you have 5 minutes"....would be quite helpful. At least then I'd realize its there, and feel it imperative to hurry.
Chaosdreamer Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 You kinda destroyed the core of the ship and it's going to explode.... It's should have been more logical to have this happening 100% time(even if Phobos since that thing is going to blow up anything near) So yea, better running except you want to stay in a ship that going to explode soon™
Arlayn Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 um you just destroyed something and the ship is going to blow up...good reason to run fast Escaping an explosion... METROID STYLE!!!
Babellon Posted April 29, 2014 Author Posted April 29, 2014 Ok fair enough, perhaps I am simply misunderstanding the dynamic of what is happening. It would be nice if it gave more of an indication of this and a bit more warning of the imperative to hurry once its destroyed.

Cause majority of the endings ends with you running like hell out of a massive explosion... Its like that with most games. Destroy core piece of ship and GTFO Edited April 29, 2014 by Arlayn

Arlayn Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 LOL, actually watching that video makes me want to play it. I never did. interestingly enough. Zero mission is a remake of the first but made easier, and an extended ending to it.(which gave inspiration for running around without the warframe suit idea) Great game over all. Yeah I kinda just assumed that when I saw the timer. Like oh look I destroyed generator. There is a timer. Must mean this ship is going to blow! Total Metroid thinking process.
