"Pro" System will it be changed?

The model that warframe follows for their income is fine apart from the "pro" system. Since on my previous topic some players disagreed with having unique items such as weapons or material packs. There is also another solution that most of the other players have suggested...

Since platinum players want to keep the pro system it could stay as it is but with a credit option allowing free to play players to unlock the skill tree of their weapons or warframes. Of course the cost for the free to play has to be in to a down to earth price...

What do you think?

It's what i have in mind, accessibility regardless of player status. I don't mind platinum player buying stuff to support the game but free players should have accessibility through grinding as well.

However, 'cost of f2p has to be down to earth ' is confusing - Can you explain in detail?

and oh, i forgot, don't start a new thread when the old one is still pretty much alive in kicking.

Why couldn't this have been posted in one of the dozen other topics on the subject of the Pro system, such as your previous topic that dealt with it as well? Even your suggestion of having the option to pay for anything with credits has been suggested more times than I can count.

It's been made clear by the devs that they intend to allow players to earn platinum in game. I imagine this is because it's easier for them to tweak and balance the amount of platinum players receive than it is credits, due to the smaller amount that it exists in. The question that I think hasn't been asked is why people aren't satisfied with this solution?

Sorry if I seem irritated, but it's one of my pet peeves when people take a discussion around in circles.

A good free-to-play system means that a free player is not locked out or denied access to anything. For the most part, Warframe seems to be doing a good job, but this pro system is ridiculous. The fact that a free player simply cannot access their fourth warframe skill is terrible and a disservice to a potential customer.

If you treat free players like second class citizens, that makes me much less inclined to actually spend money on your game, not more. Make like Planetside 2, allow players to buy cosmetics and boosts, but leave all actual gameplay-affecting things to be earned though gameplay. I find it hard to believe anyone could defend this system.

50000 is a good price

nah cause i earn 50k within a matter of 5-7 matches it should be 120k at best if it was ever put in , either way just cause you F2P players are wanting the pro system changed / removed you wont get it that easilly when its put in your gonna have to work your &#! off cause now DE are going to be losing money cause of this feature if it ever got removed

in a couple of hours i wont be f2p player anymore =P

And double checking 50k is easy to get, 100k at least sounds more viable.

It is debatable as to wether or not they would "lose" money from changing the Pro system feature so that it is also unlockable with credits. Why? Well if people come to the game and see that they are severely limited progression wise unless they cough up cash then they will most likely head straight back out the door. Whereas if they saw that their time and effort would be rewarded, they may end up paying for other platinum-purchasable things (e.g Warframes).

The game is fine if you enjoy paying for every unlock but in the long run this game will go in to pay to play or shut down. So they should change it to meet the needs of both free to play and platinum players...

But who would want to pay monthly for a PVE? no one..

problem is that platinum players don't know the limits cause they have always played as platinum so in the end they will listen to the ones that are paying them and in the future warframe will die ... Just like the rest of the greedy companies

Skill tree is never a good idea to be used as a micro transactions....

i haven't paid any money and i have a pro level weapon and a pro level frame... If they provide a valid means to get a little plat occasionally through free means, i don't think it would be bad at all... I am a little concerned with how vertical progression is though; i feel like it really discourages friends from playing with each other because the encounters that fit one friend could easily be way too high or low for another. Maybe a tutoring system needs to be put in place to weaken stronger players in lower level missions or maybe vertical progression just needs to be reduced.

Maybe a little too easy to get plat for free. What if you got the reward not for daily log in but for a bonus for completing your first mission of the day? Seems pretty reasonable. 4 days of playing and you can upgrade something to pro. $5 buys you an extra 15 days of playing at least 1 mission a day.Seems like there would still be pretty good incentive to actually buy plat...

I believe pro upgrade cost 20•Pt? If so, you can upgrade three items to pro by paying $5 (choose wisely of course :P). Almost every weapon and armor are available through credits. If it's true it cost 20•Pt, I think pro should stay exclusive. On the other hand, people who can't pay via internet or who rather spend their money on something more useful, I think they should create an achievements sytem where you can earn a certain amount platinum(like 500•Pt all together). Receiving platinum each day is useless(why have 2 currencies if you can get both for free). I'll stay neutral about this topic :)

well a 15000 credit weapon is like around 175 platinum something correct? (not 100% sure but you get the picture.) so 20 platinum for pro would be almost little to none credits. Credits are REALLLLLLY easy to obtain.

So I'm guessing they would have to overprice the hell out of it credit wise, so only "pro" players could grind or play enough to pro their items.

A bunch of casuals with pro items defeats the purpose.

I think they should remove the platinum of the current weapons and armor(unlikely to happen because some players payed with real money) and make platinum exclusive weapons. Like Prime versions of the current weapons and armor (Prime Volt?). And still, I think $5(which is the minimum) is expensive for a pro upgrade even though I had 3200•Pt. But let the designers decide. This topic has been going on for too long now ;) close this topic
