Enemies Of The Tenno: Infested Submissions

Name Suggestion: Torture

Behaviour: These creatures lurk in the darkness, not attacking at all, until their prey makes the first move. It does not do this out of courtesy, but rather, for the excitement of the hunt. However, these enemies are only found when they meets several prey, lusting for the hunt, and they tend to hunt alone, as they despise a stolen kill, even attacking an ally who simply wished to help. They have even been known to hunt their own Infested on a regular basis, leading common Infested to avoid them. The "Torture" are savages that have been so deformed by the Technocyte Plague, that their minds only live to kill. In truth, they were Orokin experiments with the Technocyte Plague to battle the Sentients. They were abandoned after the Orokin scientists killed one another due to the psychological toxins. After several years of living only to hunt, their Orokin designed armor has been weathered, but they have grown very strong. The Lotus will notify any Tenno of the Torture similar to a Prosecutor, but they only appear in Infestation Outbreaks due to the nature of the psychological toxins.

Abilities: Their attacks are brutal, from their slowly shield-draining touch to their deadly jaws that wish to kill. When they grapple down their prey to chomp with their jaws, they are capable of weakening their prey's shield as they are down so that they have a cleaner bite. Their pounces work similar to the attacks of the Wild Kubrow, but with a shield draining effect. They have a large pool of health, so it is necessary to prepare before attacking them, but once killed, their appearance changes. In a psychological attack, they attack the senses and become in their prey's eyes the one they love most, whether it's the Lotus for the Tenno, or the Queens for the Grineer. Victims hit by these attacks have been known to question their allies, even turning on them for supposedly slaughtering their masters or family. Essentially, it sets all of the Grineer or Corpus allies into a state similar to Nyx's Chaos. They also seem to have no eyes, boosting their predatory capabilities.

Environment restrictions: These enemies only spawn in Infestation outbreaks, where other forces can help, but can turn on the Tenno.

(Optional) Art or Reference Images: So I started doodling on notebook paper during Prime Time #28 and I made this:

You'll finally be able to use that Lotus model!

Name Suggestion: Spine Thrower

Behaviour:  A mutated Charger with a Spiked back. It can roll up into a ball, similar to a porcupine, and walking close to it will deal a chunk of puncture damage.

Attacks: The Spine thrower does just what its name suggests, it shoots spikes from its back at the player. Each attack fires off 5 or so spikes that fan out as they travel, Getting too close will cause it to curl up in a defensive ball

Environment restrictions:  Same as a Charger

(Optional) Art or Reference Images:

Think Porcupine crossed with a charger

Name: Moth. Behavior: The moth is created by the corpus ospreys and the contact with the technocyte virus. It has a tendency to go with the group's of other infested due to it's corpus programming still lingering, but sees regular corpus as a hostile. Less agile than regular ospreys, unless if near death, it'll then move quicker. It'll usually be flying, but will sometimes stay near walls, unless infested are nearby, or if provoked . They're attracted to forms of light, such as a players flashlight in infested missions. Attack: Like the ospreys they do similar things as when they weren't infected, but with some more based to suit infested aggression. The shield osprey instead boosts health of infested by 20%. The scavenger ospreys will tend to do the same thing as before, but slower. The leech osprey will use leeches, but now will take take 2 health every second when attached to a player. The mine osprey will now deploy silky puddles of corrosive acid when walk onto them they'll slowly degrade shields, overtime they'll take away health instead of shields, unless your shields ran out. The opium osprey will now shoot smaller and less deadly silky balls of corrosive acid, when charging a player succesfully, it'll then explode into a puddle of corrosive acid. Environment restrictions: usually founded on infested corpus areas, sometimes in the orokin derelict.

Name: Ancient Defender

Behavior: A infested that looks similar to a charger but much bigger that will defend Ancient Infested from players at all costs with big, bulky arms serving as shields for the Defender. Turns its direction towards offending players depending where the players move.

Attacks: Charges at players who attack Ancient Infested (It moves faster than sprinting Ancients when charging) but it does not track unlike Ancients, giving the player the oppotunity to get out of the way. Getting hit by it will deal impact and piercing damage and will also knock the player down. It will also charge at players who try to damage it as well.

At mid to long range, long tendrills on its back will throw sharp, toxic quills at the player dealing slash and toxin damage. Tendrills are not protected but hitting the tendrills will sever them causing a critical hit but this will also enrage the Defender. Can regenerate severed tendrills.

At close range, it can breathe out toxic gas similar to the embolist.

Envioroment Restrictions: Can be found in wide, open areas but pefers tight corridors.

Name: Grappler

Behavior: The Infested Grappler usually attacks from behind enemy Tenno at the same time it is being swarmed by usual Infested units (Chargers/Leapers/Runners). It doesn't fight head on and tries to stay out of sight to ambush enemies. It attacks by shooting a sticky tendril at its target and pulling itself to it. If rushed head on it clinches onto its attacker. Both these actions will slowly deal damage to shields, and damages health slowly if shields are completely depleted.

Attacks:
Sticky Hold- Grappler's main method of attack. Shoots Tenno with a sticky tendril and pulls itself to them. Tenno stop in place for a few seconds when the attack connects. This attacks slowly damages shields, health if shields are empty. Tendril has the same range as, but lower travel speed than, Grineer Scorpion's Rip Line. During a Grappler's "attachment", a Tenno can only Melee attack and deals critical damage to the Grappler. Low Puncture proc chance.
Bear Hug- Grappler's attack only when a Tenno comes in close proximity. This is basically the same as Sticky Hold but does not stop a Tenno.

Environment restrictions: Lv. <15 enemy, uncommon in Grineer tilesets and rare in Derelicts

Other Info: The Grappler is an Infested Grineer Scorpion. Her grappling hook has been forced into her arm, basically turning her entire arm into an Infested grappling hook.

Name: Infested Swarm

Behavior: While these small strange creatures are small and weak alone they act as one fast flying swarm of clawed stinging death

Attacks: Flying Slash attack- Swarmers will fly around the player(s) causing small slash damage attacks. If in a Swarm the Slash damage is cumulative.

Sting-  Swarmer(s) will dive bomb nearby players and friendlies and sting causing a small piercing damage chance

Environmental Restrictions: Cannot function in vaccuum (no air no flight). Slowed by Ice and weak to fire and fire damage.

Additional notes: Think  Collector Swarms from Mass Effect 2. Usually spawn from hanging hives which have decent health and armor.

Name: Hider

Behaviour:  The Hider is fast. He can make himself a little bit invisible for  some seconds. In this time he hides from the player. On walls, in the corners or on the ceiling. In open areas he just go into the ground and wait for the player. Spawns rare. On ice tileset he can be killed with one hit and moves very slow. But very fast when its hot.

Attacks: Has 3 arms and 3 legs. They are elastic. And they are toxic for the player. After he hides he jumps on the player and keep him trapped(2 arms for the Tenno head,2 arms for the Tenno arms, and 1 arm and leg  for the legs.)Poison him and try to strangle him. Sentinel or jumping against walls can help getting him away, or other tennos.

Environmental Restrictions: Spawns at lvl 15 and can spawn in every tile set.

If someone wants to create an art for this, ... just do it

Name Suggestion: Infested Tenno

Behaviour:  Think stalker, but slow, lumbering, not quite zombies, but close.  They are infested inside a warframe, the tenno who was there has been devoured.  Will try to use ranged attacks while closing distance, but they can't do more than spray their tenno-based weaponry.  They don't take cover, they use their superior health and shields(!) to move to melee distance with the target, wherein they make suprisingly formidable opponents, taking you especially by suprise after how bad they were with guns

Attacks: see above, inaccurate ranged, heavy, heavy melee.  No cover.

Environment restrictions:  infested frontlines.  These won't be in the nest, they are recently overtaken tenno

(Optional) Art or Reference Images: no art, but I would say have the infested growths growing from cracks in their armor, bulging out like growths on a tree.  perhaps make those the weakpoints, as the head is no longer anything more than a helmet.

Name Suggestion: Infested Wyvern

Behavior:  Aerial type/High jumper. On the ground when not alerted, depending on the area, it will either fly or run. In open areas, it will always fly several meters above Tenno.

Attacks: Torpedo: Fires a noxious fleshy concussive flesh torpedo which inflicts toxic and knocks Tenno down.

Impale: When in close proximity(melee range) it will impale Tenno with its tail which causes them to stumble and inflicts toxic(Because who doesn't like toxic?)

Dive Bomb: Much like the Oxium Drone, when it has taken enough damage, it will dive bomb into Tenno causing aoe damage and knocking them down. Causes magnetic damage.(Because reasons)

Environment restrictions:  Can't fly indoors unless it has a high ceiling.

(Optional) Art or Reference Images: Well, it's intended to look like some sort of mutant Wyvern. If you don't know what a Wyvern is... Imagine a dragon without forearms, only less appealing and threatening and intelligent.   This looks ugly enough for a reference:

In the spirit of the Infested relating to other factions, why not have Infested Corrupted Or Infested Orokin-themed enemies?

Name: Infested Corrupte(d/r/ion)

Behaviour: Due, to its conflicting nature, these infested enemies are erratic and spontaneous. They can move slowly or quickly depending on which side is in control.

Attacks: Able to fire weapons, like a Corrupted, while also able to dispense deadly melee attack as an Infested. They can fire accurately or inaccurately, switching between melee and ranged depending on which instincts are stronger at the moment.

Environment Restrictions: No environmental limitations; the odds of encountering one are as likely as a spatial rift freeing one from the Void.

Name Suggestion: Infected Tenno

Description : taken from Ether Sword, Ether Dagger, and Dual Ether's description, this enemies are said Tenno allies that have been infected by the Technocyte Virus. They look exactly the same like other Tenno, but with some deformities here and there with some infested tissues covering their body on some parts

Behaviour:  The Infected Tenno will moves like other infested unit, seemingly controlled by the 'hive mind'. Their agility rivals the Tenno and they can do the same tricks like a normal Tenno (e.g. Wall Run, Sliding, etc) when it comes to hunting their target. However, due to some deformity on their limbs, they might be a bit slower compared to a normal Tenno.

Attacks: The Infected Tenno will attack with punches and sometimes leap like a Leaper. What makes them special is their abilities to utilize Tenno powers to a certain extent (with or without changes)

Environment restrictions: Due to the description, it would be better if this unit is placed on Orokin Derelict tileset. It will make more sense if the lore said these Infected Tennos are actually Tennos inside cyropods (just like Excalibur from the tutorial) that have been neglected due to infestation

EDIT : Fixed some typo

Name : Infested Destroyer

Behaviour : Among the infested, Destroyer is the strongest. He rages upon the Tenno. With speed and strength, he can brutally bash and knock down player with just a mere hit. Spawn rates are fairly low. Immune to Poison and Fire damage whilst being weak against Ice damage. Electricity does low damage, but has a high probability to paralyze it 5 seconds more than any other Infested.

Attacks : Charges at a Tenno, grabbing it and pinning it to the ground. Attacks are all about Impact, only to put the player on the ground and continuously smashing him until he Bleeds out or gets saved by a team mate. Outburst is a buff for the Destroyer. He can give himself and infested around a buff that gives them Damage and Speed %, but reduces their Shields, Armor and Health making them only about attack.

Environmental Restrictions : Spawns nearly at the same time as Ancients. Found in Infested void missions and normal infested mission.

Name: Wasp

Behaviour: Flying. Osprey-like but can jet propel itself left or right to avoid direct contact and/or better mobility than an osprey. just like a wasps quick, darting movements.

Attack: Fires something akin to napalms grenades but with viral explosions that have a faster fire rate but less damage than a napalm's explosions. if the tenno gets too close it will latch on and continuously sap energy. must get other teammates to shoot off in order to be able to get energy. sizeable enough so that its not too difficult a target to shoot off.

Environment Restrictions: Lvl 13< and spawns just as often as an oxium osprey. maybe just a little less than an oxium osprey. can appear on any map with infestation.

As much as I hate zombies, this makes too much sense:

Name Suggestion: Former- (more of a prefix for existing enemy types)

Behavior: as they aren't so much a new enemy, but a sort of middle ground between full on Infested and the humanoids they derive from.  Mindless infected Grineer and Corpus that still mostly resemble the hosts; bipedal and capable of using firearms, just dumb and don't use the host's AI tactics (cover, retreating, etc.).

Attacks: They just kind of banzai towards the players firing whatever weapons they happen to be holding, potentially pretty dangerous in groups.

Environment Restrictions: Any environments that the host species' can exist in!

Appearance: Again, they still appear mostly Grineer or Corpus, just with Technocyte tendrils and crap hanging off.

Name: Spitter Bug

Behaviour:  Small infested bug that crawls around walls and ceilings. It blends in with the infested enviroment so its hard to see. Its fast and tries to doge attacks when its not attacking itself. Attacking makes it stop and glow. This is the best oppertunity for the Tenno to strike. It doesnt have much HP but moves in swarms of around 7-10 (?).

Attacks: Once the Bug is close enough to its target it will stop and start spitting a tocix (and or corrosive) mass at the player. To do taht it has to expose its mouth, which when shot makes it die.

Environment restrictions:  The Spitter Bug has its home in all infested envoriments. That includes ships aswell as planets. It is most likely to be found inbetween the infestationspores (or whatever these are :P) since its hard to spot there.

I think this would add an interesting, nonfloorbound, enemy to the infested. Players will have to be more carefull in infested enviroments for now not all enemys shall be seen on the first look.

Good luck Tenno,

GWAP

Name Suggestion: Lurker

Behavior: Lurkers hide in lockers, waiting for players to try to open them or bursting from hiding as players pass.

Attacks: Initial attack is a high damage strike meant to take players by surprise. If the player survives, the lurker pursues with attacks meant to knock the player down to perform ground finishers.

Environment Restrictions: As stated, Lurkers only spawn inside lockers, both red and green. Green lockers can only attack if opened, Red lockers are activated by proximity.

Name: Infested Swarms.

Behavior: Small fleshy infested that move in large numbers, they twitch and crawl throughout the map aimlessly in search for corpses or living organisms to infect. Encountering the nearest Grineer or Corpus crewman, it will trigger an animation which turns the host into an infested, the same with a nearby corpse.

Attacks: Pounce and overwhelm the opponent. (For Grineer and Corpus, they turn into an infested.)

Environment Restrictions: Any level would do.

Description: Small infested that move in large numbers seeking for other hosts to spread the Technocyte plague.

Name Suggestion: Gas Walker

Behavior: The Gas Walker will behave almost like a infested runner but with a catch. Instead of exploding when lethal damage is dealt, the Gas Walker will vanish into a cloud of gas, damaging Tenno within a radius of 10 meters. After it vanishes it will begin stalking the player, its form resembling its normal form, but shrouded in black green gas. It can be killed like any other enemy in the game once enters its Gas phase

Attacks: Before the Gas Walker enters its stalking phase, it will throw gas bombs similar to the rounds fired by the Torid and vanish periodically for about 10 seconds. When it enters its stalking phase, it will begin shooting darts (similar to Acrids shots) that deal Gas damage at the Tenno that killed it.

Environment restrictions: This ancient infested spawns only 5 times per regular mission, and a infinite number of times for survival/defense.

Optional Art: None yet

Name: Infested Resonator

Behavior: Infested unit which can vibrate the ground, air and itself. Tends to run away from danger and provide support to other infested. Mostly likes to screech, scream and do sounds to confuse and intimidate prey. Goes in infested packs. Likes dark places. Can run faster than a normal infested. Won't attack a prey directly nor alone. Also it's blind and see's with it's hearing.

Attacks: Screeching Fear, when prey gets close it will resonate the air with a blast off sound causing confusion and disorientation. Vibrating Phase, sometimes will vibrate so quickly it will face trough solid projectiles. Rally, will do a scream that will empower nearby infested. Last Resonance, when killed will blast all remaining sound and will damage any unit nearby.

Environment Restrictions: Hates well lit areas and places with no air nor matter. (since there is no matter his powers don't work)

José A. Rivera Felicano suggestion.

Maybe there should be an infested version of each boss on every planet. So when an infestation invasion occurs; and takes over the boss tile, it becomes that infested version of him/her. the infested version can be more difficult than the original form for example you can take the first boss, on mercury and have him grown into the wall and be much larger. He could have large arms that extend across the room and shoot poison for distance tenno. and of course this is just an example off the top of my head, it could be anything and be a good change up for some of the more monotonous bosses in the game also a good reason to go back to certain planets that would be previously too easy for a higher ranked player.
