How often do you all try and help others get to alerts? Tried to get a group going on an alert last night, then abandoned them to try and get another group up. Appaerntly they couldn't continue the mission without a host that has that place. So then I figured that since I had time, I'd taxi them over to the planet next to the alert, so they can host their own groups. Did that for several groups before I taxi'd a final group to the alert itself before it was over. Anyone else do this?

its a when I feel like it kind of thing

Basically this. And when I have the time. And if it's a really good alert. And it probably annoys the heck out of people when they don't get it.

This is my feeling when I actually do do it.

Sometimes, if it's an alert in one of the outer planets that has a potato reward.

But I hear you can do drop off taxi instead of hosting neighbor unlocks by setting your status to online, hovering over the planet with the alert, then invite people to your party, click the alert, get them to click the alert off of your mission selection, then you can leave and they'll continue into the alert.

@KnotOfMetal

I tried that, in addition to leaving during the mission. Didn't work out.

It's nice to know that out of like 14 people you helped, at least 4 actually follow up and host recruit.

Nice to know I had drop-off taxis wrong before trying it, what I think they were doing now was actually to:

Set online status -> invite only 2 players at a time to their party -> wait for a fourth player to matchmaker connect -> then have the 2 invited click the mission link off the voting/selection area -> original host leaves.

Basically, you take players who don't have the mission unlocked and dump them on players who do have the mission unlocked and are using online matchmaking.
