Mephiste
Today, out of nostalgia I got myself a Hek and... While it still performs great... It looks very outdated. Model wise and Texture wise. Is there a chance you guys could re-work the Hek? If not a remodel just a re-texture so it doesn't look so perfectly smooth/clean for a Grineer weapon? I want it to look closer to the newer Grineer arms such as Sobek/Hind/Drakgoon. I've even had the idea for a new fire animation, Making the cannons kick/slide back as you fire. I'd really like to see this awesome shotgun re-worked in the future.
PsychedelicSnake
Yeah. It performs really well, but it simply looks too clean to be a Grineer weapon. It definitely needs that "scraped metal" look of the Sobek and Grakata.

Saenol
Not at all in favor of a rework. Hek is fine as is, both in performance, and appearance. Yes, it looks a bit different from other Grineer weapons. So what? Maybe Hek hired a different weapons contractor to supply his name sake?

I disagree, Sure that sounds plausible but the Hek doesn't fit any sort of Grineer manufacture looks. It looks more like something the Corpus would make. And the Hek's model/texture are old anyways and could use a re-work.

Maybe the Hek is a derivative or licensed copy, and not a Grineer Athletic Taped Firearms Corp original? Point is that everything fitting a theme perfectly is as absurd as not having any sort of consistency at all. There needs to be exceptions to prove the rule. The exceptions that work are Acrid and Stug. Hek just looks way too shiny and smooth for a Grineer Weapon, Mostly because It's lacking detailled textures. The Viper to me looks like a really decent Grineer Sidearm. As for the Hek predating the other Grineer weapons, The newer Grineer weapons seem to follow some sort of a theme which makes the Hek look outdated and stick out like a sore thumb. Mephiste
It should be like the picture. At first I had no idea what you were talking about. Then I noticed the worn texture on the thumbnail, Nicely observed! Sadly the ingame model doesn't have it :(
LiquidSorrow
The Hek could use a visual overhaul. I mean Vay Hek got reworked, why not his signature weapon as well?

GeoffFromAccounting
people have been asking this for... since U7 I believe and yet it hasn't happened which is sad, because I loved the Hek but the one thing that stopped me using it was the fact that it looks like it was made out of plastic pipes
ItPutsTheLotion
I agree. Stats wise its okay. But it could use a rework on the model
Mephiste
people have been asking this for... since U7 I believe and yet it hasn't happened which is sad, because I loved the Hek but the one thing that stopped me using it was the fact that it looks like it was made out of plastic pipes Yes, Exactly. The PVC pipe cannons are pretty freaking ugly. Hek, (lul) the whole thing looks like it's made out of plastic. And, Since U7? Darn that's been a while. But Let's just all try and maybe DE will notice and answer our pleas and make a GOOD weapon appealing to the eye! :) Edited May 7, 2014 by Mephiste

Mephiste
Huh, what? You don't like the use of plastoids in the weapon? Doesn't quite fit for the Grineer, Sadly. Would look great for Corpus however.

Mephiste
Just look on the ideal, perfectly white mask of almost any grineer soldier. But I'm not talking about the Grineer ingame models here am I? I just want an old dated looking weapon to be updated graphicly so it doesn't look stylishly inferior to other weapons.
RossRam
Well, I'm just trying to say, that grineer can utilize shiny bits in their armor and weapons. Especially giving the fact that Hek was personal weapon of councillor, so someone of his rank could use shiny weapon. There are several grineer weapons that look pretty... unscrapped. LiquidSorrow
The Torid got some love after awhile. The Hek should get a second look as well. It's also the only puncture based shotgun in the game atm.

Shiny bits are no problem. However, the problem with Hek is that instead of utilizing bits, the entire thing is shiny and relatively untextured, and it does not fit the Grineer look at all. Shiny bits are fine, especially on the barrels, but it needs grittier textures everywhere else.

Othergrunty
I'll pass your feedback along to our Weapon Artists. While you are at it. Can you also pass up the feedback to DE_Scott that he should either buff the Lato or add and identical but stronger version to the game ala the Braton to Mk1 Braton? We had multiple threads in the weapon feedback section over the last months in which people were not happy with the Lato only doing a laughable 11 damage (most slash which doesn't work well against Grineer and Corpus). Please? Edited May 12, 2014 by Othergrunty
Arlayn
Doesn't quite fit for the Grineer, Sadly. Would look great for Corpus however. No... The Hek fits in an odd way. If it had the scrapes I think it would be perfect, but for Corpus? No... Hell Tron disc fit Corpus better. Corpus looks like the armory of what we imagine a PMC's Armory would look like.
