Psycho_Cadence Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I wanted to be accurate about the factions info before I came up with an idea for a new unit in the Enemy Design Project... Even though the Grineer are clones, they have both male and female units (which is fine, but it does bring up a few questions of reproduction capabilities and why they are degrading so bad to start with). The Corpus are a long-lived, non-cloned (as far as I can tell) group, but seem to have no females in their ranks or any of the videos I have seen of them (unless I missed some)... My questions are: Are there females in the Corpus faction at all? If so, are any of them combative? If not, then why? (mostly just curious about this one)
honk1234 Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 all i know is that there is sometimes a female corpus voice coming from speakers in corpus missions
gnat6 Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 DE has said that they are working on female corpus units so the answer is yes to your first 2 questions.
Gelkor Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 (edited) I always figured it was one of two options: One, being a giant corporation, the Corpus still has a glass ceiling and Corpus executives are misogynistic toads. Or. Two, those jumpsuits are baggy and those helmets are ambiguous, half the crewmen we've been slaughtering all along are women. Edited May 7, 2014 by Gelkor
(PSN)Pengu_Imperialus Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 all i know is that there is sometimes a female corpus voice coming from speakers in corpus missions I wonder if the corpus relegate the women in their society to things like secretaries and home life or indoctrination centers. Like an entire society based on the show Mad Men. Or perhaps being that it's a pseudo religious order, women aren't allowed to join.

Actually if they are secretaries they kinda do run the joint. I mean what would happen if no one calculated the amount of deaths due to Warframes?!?!?
VentiGlondi Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 (edited) The real question is - why do corpus let their men be slaughtered if they could just send an army of robots? Edited May 7, 2014 by VentiGlondi
gnat6 Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 The real question is - why do corpus let their men be slaughtered if they could just send an army of robots? Depending on what the corpus population is like it might be cheaper to replace crewmen than to replace the moas.
Gelkor Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 (edited) Depending on what the corpus population is like it might be cheaper to replace crewmen than to replace the moas. Well, if corpus have much longer lifespans than modern day humans (Darvo is "almost" 105) but have the same birth rate, they would have an almost unmanageable population size. Constant warfare is probably the only thing keeping it in check. Darvo himself may have like, 50 siblings and 20-30 kids. Edited May 7, 2014 by Gelkor

I mean what would happen if no one calculated the amount of deaths due to Warframes?!?!? The whole matriarchy thing seems to be covered by the Grineer. With the Twin Queens, and all specialized units are mostly female, along with Kela de Thayme... Edited May 7, 2014 by Ionus
SpilockT_T Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I think the female corpus will take the supportive role... Maybe a healer? Technician?
The_Sharp_Demonologist Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 i Made a super corpus Update to make corpus the Faction they are suposed to be, take it as a refference if you like: https://forums.warframe.com/index.php?/topic/207583-krauserlols-ultimate-corpus-update-threat-the-corpus-shall-rise/ sBasically I see Corpus focusing on defensive tactics where Humans play a more defensive role while Robotics are the main source of their power.
(PSN)Pengu_Imperialus Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I think the female corpus will take the supportive role... Maybe a healer? Technician? Corpus Medic. A buff/debuff melee unit. She hits you and you get that annoying slow effect from the ice or whatever the hell it is in the Towers, or she gives a trinity like effect to a non robotic corpus unit.

AM-Bunny Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 If so, are any of them combative? If not, then why? (mostly just curious about this one) My understanding of the faction is that none of them are combative. They are rarely even seen in public, and use robot proxies for everything, I imagine they use robot proxies for fighting as well. This isn't represented very well in game, but I've always felt that the reason for this is that the tenno are on the attack; we're attacking the corpus in their homes, on their planets, which is why there are more crewmen than proxies. But yes, if you're thinking of some martial arts, battlemaster chick, I don't think that fits with the lore at all. Maybe more of a "robot powersuit" sort of thing.
(PSN)Pengu_Imperialus Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Nah man, Corpus Power Loader Pilot. Your killing me with the cliche lol. While that is awesome we need to think outside the box.
Psycho_Cadence Posted May 7, 2014 Author Posted May 7, 2014 DE has said that they are working on female corpus units so the answer is yes to your first 2 questions. Thank you for the reply. This does answer my question, but just for efficiency's sake, could someone tell me where this is from? Was it a Dev Stream, a Prime Time, etc...?

Gelkor Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 (edited) Your killing me with the cliche lol. While that is awesome we need to think outside the box. Is it more cliche than having the female units be the healers? At least mine is a movie reference. =P I still like my theory that half the corpus crewmen we've been killing already are female, those flight-suits are pretty baggy. Edited May 7, 2014 by Gelkor

Guest Tehnoobshow Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 (edited) The Corpus are all men and reproduce via artificial uteri lol Edited May 7, 2014 by Tehnoobshow
