LugiaV Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Hello! I have a question about resolution and screen ratio in Warframe. I’m want to buy a new screen with 21:9 ratio and resolution of 2560x1080. Now my question. Its Warframe Supporting this resolution and ratio? Thank you!
Tengu-musume Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 1080p sucks. Go for a narrower monitor with more vertical resolution. I have a QNIX with 2560x1440. High pixel density, pure whites, overclockable. Less than $500.

ShiroSlinky Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Some people can't afford such things... And I believe warframe doesn't support 1440p and only 1080p. And on topic the only ratios I seen are 4:3, 16:9 and I think 16:10.
Y3H0 Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 (edited) I wish Warframe could run with 1440p image quality...no you can run the game under 2560x1440 resolution with display port 2 for example. Edited May 10, 2014 by Y3H0

Less than $500. I could buy a whole PC that runs Warframe in 1080p for 500 dollars, and only because you think 1080p is not good enough... others either don't care or it's good enough for them. Until this year, I have been playing in 1280x1024 resolution for about 6 years... Finally I have a fullHD monitor and I love it, I don't need bigger

What a worthless post, people always feel like they have to push their "superior" opinion on someone when all they want is a simple answer to their question. Great that you chose to have a 2560x1440p monitor, but guess what, that's a 1.78:1 (16:9) aspect ratio panel, OP clearly stated he's getting a 2.34:1 (21:9) aspect ratio panel so your recommendation is already null and void before you even made it; next time just answer is question or don't post at all. On topic, I can run warframe at 3840x1080 as long as it's in borderless windowed, so I'm guessing the game will run fine at 21:9 as well. Edited May 10, 2014 by ReizoRyuu
Tengu-musume Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 What is wrong with you people? I'm not forcing my "superior" opinion on someone. My post was very simple. Warframe does support 1440p actually. A 1440p monitor for less than $500 is actually a good deal. I was just recommending a value monitor. If you haven't tried 1440p, then of course you have no idea that 1080p sucks in comparison.

You could have got the ASUS PB278Q: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236294&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID= It's dropped about $100 in price since February, its the same resolution and its a safer move because you don't have to deal with manufacturers from Korea. Plus ASUS is a reputable brand. Edited May 10, 2014 by BecomeLikeWater
Tengu-musume Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Actually, if you searched QNIX on that site, you'd see the QNIX is cheaper. I've had my share of different monitors and resolutions. The QNIX I'm looking at right now is a great value at only around $370.

Your post was indeed very simple, yet it managed to answer a question that was never asked; the OP never asked for your monitor recommendations or how highly you think of certain resolutions. If any post was simple it's the OP, he's getting a 21:9 panel and wants to know if warframe supports it, yet you managed to contribute nothing other than telling him his 21:9 choice is wrong because it doesn't live up to your standards; that's what's "wrong" with us, your zero-content post.
Sabreracer Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 (edited) How about a simple answer to the original question then. As someone that has such a monitor, I can say that Warframe doesn't support it natively. However it is possible to get to work. I have a GTX670 and use GeForce Experience which enables it. If you're using an ATi card there probably is a way, either if they have something similar or by editing the config file. Don't exactly know to as I didn't need to myself. You assume I should only have answered the OP's question. That's what you think. I tried 1080p monitors and now I have a 1440p one. I made the recommendation for the OP's sake because I know just how better it is to have a higher vertical resolution than horizontal. If OP wants to disregard my recommendation and go buy a 21:9 monitor, I'm FINE with that :p You are taking this way too seriously. I'll excuse you for saying that my post is "worthless" and "zero-content" :3

Are you talking about a fullscreen resolution though? Have you tried borderless windowed and seen if it doesn't work natively? Because 3840x1080 works fine in borderless windowed which is a much higher aspect than 21:9. You assume I should only have answered the OP's question. That's what you think. If I assumed anything it's that the OP wanted an answer to his question for which he took the effort to make a topic, and not come in here to see: "Your choice sucks because I say so, so get something else instead; also, I don't have an answer to your question.".
Tengu-musume Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 If I assumed anything it's that the OP wanted an answer to his question for which he took the effort to make a topic, and not come in here to see: "Your choice sucks because I say so, so get something else instead; also, I don't have an answer to your question.". Oh dear... Sure. I'm not saying you didn't assume what the OP was trying to do :p However, the part about how you think of my post however, is born from your overreacting mind. Like I said, it was only a recommendation. If OP chooses horizontal resolution over vertical, I'm not saying it's wrong. I do indeed personally think that choice would suck for him. You don't have to like how I made my post :p Again, you are taking this way too seriously. I'm not forcing the OP to choose anything.
ReizoRyuu Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 I never said you forced him to do anything, I said your post is worthless and holds no relevance to what the OP wants ;]. Also: 1080p sucks. Go for a narrower monitor with more vertical resolution. Your choice sucks because I say so, so get something else instead; also, I don't have an answer to your question.". Sweet recommendation brah.
Tengu-musume Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 I never said you forced him to do anything, I said your post is worthless and holds no relevance to what the OP wants ;]. Also: Sweet recommendation brah. Actually, for all we know, the OP might be pleasantly surprised with the 27" 1440p monitor I recommended that's priced at only around $370. That's something you don't know with 100% certainty without the OP's words. That is a sweet recommendation. Also a few posts below you can see that I elaborated on the recommendation. I repeat. You are taking this way too seriously. I'm not forcing the OP to choose a particular monitor.
ReizoRyuu Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 Even though you quoted me, you must've missed the part where mentioned that I never said you forced him to do anything. Also, likewise, you have no idea what OP will pay for his monitor or why he chose 21:9; your assumption that OP would be "pleasantly suprised" by your borderline insulting post is so conceited it hurts. And yeah you elaborated, after several people called you out on your nonsense ;D.

And yeah you elaborated, after several people called you out on your nonsense ;D. Exactly, I never said I'm forcing him to choose a particular monitor. Yet you were still telling me that I was saying it's 'wrong' to choose a 1080p monitor. I have said again and again that I am FINE with OP exercising his free will to choose a 1080p monitor. My assumption that OP would be "pleasantly surprised"? That's not what I said!! XD I said for all we know, the OP MIGHT be pleasantly surprised. Not WOULD be. I guess that pain is from your own self. Those "several people" made posts that are just like yours. And I've been telling you where you fail constantly. What's the point of mentioning them? Trust me, I've been around the forums here and you guys are NOT an intellectual bunch whose posts I would take seriously. It's childishly defensive of you to think their posts are worth mentioning.
ReizoRyuu Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 I meant could be, english isn't my first language, but whatever it's semantics in this situation anyway since I was making the point of how rude and insulting your post was, but you are refusing to see it that way since you think you "might" be doing the OP a service (while providing zero relevance) and the rest of us were just wrong for calling you out on it. Exactly, I never said I'm forcing him to choose a particular monitor. Yet you were still telling me that I was saying it's 'wrong' to choose a 1080p monitor. I have said again and again that I am FINE with OP exercising his free will to choose a 1080p monitor. Oh really?: 1080p sucks. Go for a narrower monitor with more vertical resolution. This is you literally saying it.Also: If you haven't tried 1440p, then of course you have no idea that 1080p sucks in comparison. Oh no, he's not "wrong", poor little OP just has no idea ;D.Even in your elaboration you are conceited, great job completely disregarding OP's choice for 21:9
Tengu-musume Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 English isn't my first language either :p "but whatever it's semantics in this situation anyway" Please. Don't pull that card. That's pathetic. "but you are refusing to see it that way since you think you "might" be doing the OP a service (while providing zero relevance)" Yes I do think I might have. Who knows for certain? Not you, not me. Zero relevance? The guy was asking around for a 1080p monitor and I told him he could get a 1440p monitor for around $370. Zero is a bit too harsh don't you think? :3 "and the rest of us were just wrong for calling you out on it." Again with this childish group mentality. I'm talking to you, not them. I'm calling you out on your posts. Who cares, right? Exactly. You agreed that I wasn't forcing the OP to make a particular choice. And now you're contradicting yourself by quoting my post that way. Again, read these words: I am not commanding the OP to buy a 1440p monitor. It is his choice. Get over it. "Oh no, he's not "wrong", poor little OP just has no idea ;D. Even in your elaboration you are conceited, great job completely disregarding OP's choice for 21:9" Yeah exactly. I didn't say it's 'wrong'. You can call me conceited all you want, but all I did was provide alternatives that I personally think are better. It's what happens in forums. People don't directly answer the OP's questions if they feel others will do so anyway and you have things to say that have a possibility of benefiting the OP.
