Do Leech Osprey Drop Dates Need A Buff ? (Rant)

(Caution; this post may contain Rage) (Edit I miscaitalised Drop rates so its drop dates up there sooooo sorry :/)

 

Since melee 2.0 came, Ive done over 50 runs on xini (and a few more in other maps) to at least wave 20, averaging 2 or 3 a day, and 32 transmutes using only rares ,( I counted so could keep track of stats and creds)

 

And yet, I have no gleaming talon :/

 

This is very frustrating since I usually just use glaive, and cant use all those pretty combos weve seen in devstreams simply  cos i don't have the stance.

 

Its kinda ironic that i come to play warframe for stress relief, and end up getting more stressed looking for one bl**dy mod that only fits on 3 weapons. 
 

DE mentioned that they wanted stances to be hard to get so players experienced more content, but how much more content do i have to experience to get this one mod? Is it worth wasting all my time on xini for that mod when i can simply go play somewhere else with less than half the glaive spinning  fun?

 

Hours spent on Xini simply for 2 additional moves on a couple of weapons is not acceptable

 

Considering Leech ospreys are extremely rare, and that even when they DO drop rares, it tends to be a split chamber 100% of the time for me so far, should the Leech osprey drop rate be buffed or should Gleaming Talon be dropped by other enemies aside from the leech osprey?

 

I should be thankful for being able to enjoy this game, but not with this much frustration for such a small aspect of the game.

If you don't try to look for it you will get it.When farming Tranquil CLeaver I got 3 rare stances that I needed.

It only drops from ospreys tho (cannot be desecrated).

 

 

Leech ospreys are also the second rarest enemy type if im not mistaken, as opposed to butchers that spawn in hordes

 

Tranquil Cleave on the other hand drops extremely often. You could get one once every three games

Thats not my point what I am saying is you find things when you don't look for it. Plus Tranquil Cleaver doesn't spawn that fast

If it only drops from one enemy, theres no way to get it other than to find that enemy tho. Tranquil drops often with  a nekros on squad

I've spent 3 days on trying for Gleaming Talon, myself.

 

The randomness is really starting to aggravate me.  It's not even grind...  Grind is when you have a target, and a mechanism, and you just crank away on the time aspect.  But when one person can get something without trying and somebody who actually wants it doesn't get it after a hundred attempts, it's absurdly demoralizing.  The trade system was supposed to reduce the pains of RNG, but reality is that 99% of players want to sell for platinum instead of trading, and for those few souls that are willing to trade...the things they would accept as a fair exchange are just as equally insanely rare.

 

This whole series of failures comes on the heels of trying to farm up a second Lex Prime.  I spent a total of 60ish keys and did not get a single fracking part of that gun.

 

The only interesting thing I've found in the last week was a Brutal Tide, and it was the first one I've ever gotten so I can't even try and trade it.

 

Sigh.

 

Should be understandable why my Warframe playing has taken a down turn in favor of binging on Mythbusters episodes and stretching my old 3D modeling wings.

The trick is to stop grinding for it and play normally. It's not a life or death situation to get that mod. Eventually it will drop and instead of frustration because you got it after grinding for a week. You feel happy because you got it and you weren't even searching for it.

 

I got the Crimson sword mod while playing the rescue missions for the syndana.

If we're talking about Gleaming Talon, then no. No, it won't just randomly drop for you in any reasonable time period.. Leech ospreys are rare as hell and only turn up on one or two maps reliably, and even then, in 3 days of frustration with maybe ten of the buggers per mission, I have yet to see one drop a single rare mod of ANY kind, much less the one I want.

 

It's a 1 in a million drop. If you rely on pure luck without making a concerted effort to sway the odds then Warframe itself will probably die before you get it.  People that win lotteries are not reality, reality is everybody who didn't win.

Leech Osprey spawn rate is ok, I found a lot of them in OSE. It's the drop rate.

I've been doing Ose on Europa, there's a healthy spawn rate of Leech Ospreys there. Still no luck though.

At least there's a place you can go to find leech ospreys (and bombards, for that elusive crimson dervish). Nauseous crawlers don't have any place on the starmap. If you want homing fang, you need to wait until an infested alert appears, then hope that it contains nauseous crawlers (it's either nauseous or normal + toxic + electric). Then you need to find them. And then it's another roll of the dice to see whether they drop a homing fang.

Tranquil cleave has been severely devalued, also, if the drop rates are boosted, EVERYONE gets it (glaive stance) more easily, I dont wanna be the only person to benefit from this strategy.

 

On PC tho, there arent many people willing to sell it for less than 200p, equivalent to about 11 tranquil cleave mods
