Gelkor
the key being consumed only when the mission is completed is another game logic fail. To enter the void, you need to USE the key, when you USE the key, IT IS CONSUMED...so if the host drops out, there is no key back in the inventory, THAT IS STUPID. of course if the game crash that woulnt be fair.. Which is why it's consumed on completion and not entry, if the game crashed at 4 minutes, or 44 minutes in, and you lost all progress AND the key you used, you'd be even more furious. Microsoft can write an algorythm to ban camper in call of duty, surely DE can write one to see a host migration fail and not punish the player for it... another argument that fails.. So very true. Really glad the way the game works as it does. If I lost my T3 Survival key from a GPU crash I'd most definitely not play for a while. The keys aren't every easy to obtain to begin with. edit: Guy seems to be in a rage fit. I'd leave him in his quiet area to chill for a bit. There is no reason in this thread. izzatuw
I assume that (let's kinda make up lore here) in order to enter the place you have to use the key in a certain place. And when the previous holder of the key (host) leaves the portal/gate/door etc etc just closes like that. So if you're not the host and you continue you'll pretty much be abandoned with tons of infested. Only thinking like this because it only happens to Void and OD. Normal defenses don't use a key so you can continue to stay.

The root of the issue is that you feel you should be able to keep playing on someone else's void or derelict key without them being there to host. RoboDoge
lol...this mechanic makes no "//%$? sens, yet everyone blindly folows it with no qquestion...im done...it seems some people really lack of something called intelligence...im out It is not stupid mechanics because you dont even know what can be possibilities of people playing after host leaves. It is not about playing when host leaves, it is about the keys. If you had one nasty glitch that i reported, that could be exploited like crazy, you would have though differently about this issue. One of the reasons why DE forces you to leave when host leaves might be because of that. And conditions for exploiting that could be met really easy. Ryme
The OP is justified in their frustration. That you need to be the keyholder to stay is understandable. The problem I see is that non-keyholders aren't automatically extracted if the keyholder decides to leave. Why give them the option to stay if they're just going to be booted out? Host claims and leaves, it should just force all players to claim and leave, especially because this change would remove the possibility for griefing other players by last-second switches. That is also true, but making a poorly written post on the forums. Without much thought and consideration. Was not the way to go about it. If I were in a similar situation the best course of action is to cool off and stop playing for the day. It's not worth getting angry over a video game. Laecerelius
It's kinda stupid how it makes you auto-fail if you don't extract with the key holder. Instead it should force a full extraction when the key holder leaves.

Gelkor
Intelligent because they agree with you that something is "stupid"? Or intelligent because they suggested the same fix that several other "not intelligent" people have suggested since the first page of your rant? (PSN)madguy132
Exactly. It's happened many times when I've had GPU crashes and I'm hosting T3 survival. Man up. I'm not even a man and yet I'm saying this. Why are you defending something that's faulty? Sure you had it happened to you, but why let it continue to happen to somebody else? Running anything with void keys are a pain in the &#! because of the the key holder D/C or straight up quit. DE needs to come up with another way for this, I'm tired of getting mission failed at 40 minutes of T3 survival or wave 50 in defense because the key holder DCed. And no I'm not leeching, I run voids with friends, and we alternate, some of us doesn't have that good of a connection. (PSN)octus
i feel like with the current build of the game, everyone getting kicked if the key holder leaves is the best answer to avoid exploitation. it would be best (like how many people have stated already)that when the key holder leaves you are forced to leave also and retain your items. it should just not give you the option to stay if they arent. izzatuw
this is the place to complain ! He's siteing a very old still untouched bug / issue , that really needs to be adressed Only way to fix it is force leave when host does like many others have stated. But being able to stay when hosts leave is called leaching not stating that you suggested this.
RoboDoge
this is the place to complain ! He's siteing a very old still untouched bug / issue , that really needs to be adressed I understand why DE is forcing you to leave when host leaves, but implementation should be different. Host should only be able to chose claim of fight after every wave, and rest of group should get rewards after he claims. On host DC, everything should work like regular defenses. You get items and xp that you pick up in previous waves.
alphex2357
Well I hope this is not used as a major trolling tool. For example if the host leaves 1 sec before the timer runs out and everyone loses everything except him. One a side note: Please guys don't get your panties in a bunch. The only reason the OP was mad was because someone insulted him. Insults hurt peoples feelings.
