I had this idea yesterday:

An option -disabled by default- which, when activated from the starchart, would make the player vulnerable to friendly fire (only weapons, not the powers) in mission.

This hardcore gameplay option could not be disabled while in a match.

And it would be offset by a significant increase of the affinity progression in a mission.

A penalty would be applied to other players who shoot at a vulnerable player.

What do you think? Will this benefit to Warframe?

What could be the affinity modifier? The penalty?

Ooh this would be so lolzy :3

 

Make sure you dont play with PUGs tho sometimes people may accidentally shoot ya without knowing it was dem who did da shootin :3

Friendly fire in a game where u cant see s... because of effects all over the screen and tons of spells and guns with splashdamage... äh no thanks.

Make the game challenging and fun again? Just dont use damage mods, no damage on senti, focus on melee and blocking > fun restored to some degree. (and dont use nova!!!)

I wish DE would focus balance more on the spells and their utility and maybe add some cooldown to ultis or make ults cost more mana to force players to work together and finally have a real coop experience (i can dream right?)

Friendly fire would open huge can of worms when vast majority of abilities are AoE, never mind using cell mates as aiming point for Penta.

 

How about Hardcore mode as in Diablo and some other games? As you build your frame you could set is as Hardcore. You die wearing Hardcore frame; the frame you were using is done, build new one and try not to die again. Should get some sort of bonus to rewards the additional risk but could be fun too... Something to use all those extra frame bits instead of selling them off.

Just add more nodes, this is very simple. More nodes on Earth and Jupiter, with high level missions, like already happens in Phobos.

There's already a hardcore mode, it's called "No Shields, No Energy Nightmare" and it's hated and feared by advanced and newbs alike.

 

I seem to recall No Shields Vampire being the worst, or did they change that to not happen in conjunction anymore?

Ah, I see, I've still had a bunch no shields + energy drain recently, however, but that's not as bad as long as you get good energy pickups and/or use a team energy restore in a pinch.

Friendly Fire is for competitive shooters, this is a farming shooter. It just wouldn't work. There's a ton of situations working against the idea, Trolls, Melee, Frame Abilities, etc.

 

Not to mention Affinity? They'd have to offer some seriously better rewards than meaningless exp. As is I find it annoying enough that idiots can body block my fire. Without some type of actual reward it's no better than D3 Hardcore, omg you die once and it's over; so everyone runs Terminus forever.

 

I think they intended for nightmare missions to be more "Advanced" but it turned into spam running capture missions. I think they will revamp this myself. Possibly adding those event mods everyone overpays for. Time will tell though.
