Hi all,

Knowing that the Dragon Nikana is an upgrade to the Nikana, are they still considered 2 weapons?

For example, I currently have the Nikana and were I to rank it up to 30, what happens if i use that to upgrade to the Dragon Nikana, does it carry the stats or will it be considered a new weapon and there for count towards Mastery leveling?

Although it will depend on the previous questions answer, what happens if I put a catalyst on the Nikana and then upgrade to the Dragon Nikana? Will that also remain?

Cheers

It's considered a new weapon, like upgrading a pistol to a dual pistol

You'll lose the catalyst on a Nikana if you upgrade it to the Dragon Nikana

That's logically stupid. I mean if you use a level 30 Viper by itself then you decide to use it alongside a level 0 Viper, the level 30 viper shouldn't go back to level 0 just because you decided to use it alongside a level 0 Viper. That's dumb. Dual weapons should have 2 separate levels. One for each weapon in each hand. Like: Left hand=Level 30 Viper, Right Hand= Level 0 Viper. You should also be able to mod them separately too.

So to have both considered for affinity you would need 2 Nikana's :(

Not arguing the logic of it, that's just how it works.

No just one, level the Nikana to 30, then upgrade it to the Dragon Nikana and then level it

Not really. Just level the Nikana to 30 before turning it into a Dragon Nikana.

Well, now you're just over complicating the system. I get that it doesn't really make much sense but at the same time we barely know the science behind the affinity system anyways. (There probably isn't one)
