Xaiux
So my laptop died. I had a Lenovo ideapad y580, and it overheated. (It's running again but its gaming days are over). I have been looking around for a new or used laptop, and if I went new, I had been looking at the Lenovo y410p. It looks like a really good deal, but I want to know if there's anything better out there for the same price or cheaper. Thanks!
Angius
If you want to play games - buy a PC. Trust me, you'll get much better rig for the same price.
Zachles
You can pick parts for a PC here at this link. There are videos on Youtube that show you how to put things together. It's the easiest thing ever, and it's super fun to build your computer this way. If you don't want to build a rig, I'd suggest buying a desktop PC. Laptops are convenient because they are portable, but they aren't durable and just suck at playing games a lot of the time.
Verryn
If you want to play games - buy a PC. Definitely get a desktop PC if you intend to do gaming. Buy a cheaper laptop for work outside of your home.
Satsaru
Well, I run an Acer Aspire v3, with nothing but good things to say about it. http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/model-datasheet/NX.M74AA.006 He didn't ask for advice on building a PC, he's looking for a laptop. A full PC doesn't work for everyone - I personally don't have room to put an actual PC in my house, unless I put it on the kitchen table. And that would make for very awkward use... Nyxcha
i would recommend a VAIO, but sadly they aren't being made anymore. got shut down in febuary. so i'd suggest an alienware(if you can afford it) or an ASUS. can you give me your max price? i can search for you =) also mobile laptop(you move it often), stationary laptop(bigger laptop, when you only move once in a while, like when u in college and come home for hollidays with it), or desktop

Either your house is horribly tiny or you haven't bothered looking at just how small desktops can get http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/system/FANG_Mini_Pro/
Satsaru
Either your house is horribly tiny or you haven't bothered looking at just how small desktops can get http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/system/FANG_Mini_Pro/ Its about actually finding an outlet. There are none I can use long-term to sit a desktop down. Unless I slide my desk to literally block off my bedroom door, that is. My laptop suffices for what I need it to do, and considering that I'm usually on the go, having a mobile gaming platform s much more valuable to me. But that's just my opinion.
