I have been playing Warframe for a while now and I must say I am in love with the Melee Update I even took my dusty Excalibur, Rhino and specially Loki and created special builds to maximize all that Melee 2.0 had to offer and love it! As I mastered the different stances I realize a few things that could further improve and take advantage of this wonderful update: Few stumble stones I have encountered: 1) First I notice that I can go to battle just with my Melee weapon (which I did of course) but I encounter a down side to this as high up enemies or flying ones tended to be very difficult to hit jut with melee (unless you had a Glaive or you carry Castanas or effective throwing weapon for this). 2) I notices that I can do finishing moves on enemies with a successful counter but when the enemy its alerted I can’t seem to go behind them or side way to finish them like in other stealth games, unless the one hosting, is lagging a lot then the E key command appears and lets me go on a frenzy of finishing strikes, but I guess this is just a Bug and not intend. So can this be done? 3) As much as you would want to be a Weapon Melee Master, and fight just with a melee weapon, use different stances in a same stages like a traditional samurai/ninja or simply be a knight/warrior with different Melee weapons with its stances, it’s not currently possible no matter how many Formas you use in that melee weapon. Sadly this also affect the creation of Melee Specialize specters as its not possible to reach the high conclave number without being fully deck up with high ranking weapons/Warframes (Primes), very specific mods and/or with a power up Sentinel. Few suggestions that came to my mind: 1) When you have your Melee weapon out, maybe give us a “chance”, while using channeling or just the ability, for the E key command to PoP Up and make a jump/teleport/throw an energy wave to strike hard at the high up or flying enemies? 2) When you have your Melee weapon out, maybe give us a “chance”, while using channeling or just the ability, for the E key command PoP Up and when you roll behind them, side way or even if they come from behind or you stand facing your back at an enemy, you could start finish unique animation even if it does not critical hit or kill them it be a great way to further enhancing Melee. 3) Would it be possible to be able to have the option to change the Primary and Secondary Wepons to Melee? This could further open up customization to further strengthen your Melee Prowess, carry different stances with your favorite weapon (with aditional Mods if using the same weapon for all, maybe), or even carry different Melee weapons with their own stances and Mods? This would even open up the opportunity to use your favorite Range weapons as Melee with Melee Mods that would give your Tenno that Commando/Rambo feel you always wanted. This also will open the possibilities to a new range of Stance Mods not to mention some unique Mods. Can you picture your self-using the Glaive a Throwing Shield as a defensive Melee while carrying a sword or even use your favorite Range Weapon in one hand and your Melee in the other? Or who knows what other types of interesting melee/range weapons can be created? This could also open possibilities for new Types of Sentinel that are only there to further enhance your melee offensive prowess or/and defensive capabilities without taking the swords man feeling away. Example reference: Possibilities are endless if DE can make this happen. You can do it DE!!! I’m still happy with what I have right now in melee, love the great effort and work DE has done for us in this game, but this sounded like a nice idea to share!
