Pie4man Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 I like many if my friends have been wonder they strange logic of grenade launcher aka the Penta and rocket lauchers AKA the Orgis use rifle ammo. What gives? That is why I propose a new ammo type that's color is purple It would be labeled Special ammo or Utility Ammo and all weapons that use odd ammo types like bows, rockets, etc can be re scripted to use this ammo instead this could fix major problems like the super ammo efficiency or the Orgis and the Penta Any ideas tweaks or thoughts feel free to post in the comments below
se05239 Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 Why not just lower their ammo pool to match sniper rifles and bows and make them use sniper ammo (which could be renamed special ammo) and bam, problem solved.

Ammo pools are based off of weapon type. Since both weapons are scripted as rifles, they have the default 540 ammo pool. This makes them ridiculously ammo efficient to the point of being broken altogether. Clip size is another matter entirely, and is specific to the weapon. Personally, I think the ammo pool should be specific to the weapon rather than the type, (since no two rifles are exactly the same) but ya know. Furthermore, I refer you to one of Murphy's Laws of War "It is a physical impossibility to carry too much ammo."
CY13ERPUNK Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 (edited) +1 OP why this oversight has been continued and never addressed blows my mind =[ it was mentioned immediately when the ogris/torid were added ingame and was already present somewhat with the semi-auto latron but instead of addressing/fixing it, DE added the miter and forced it to use sniper ammo, like, WAT?!?! then they add the penta, and it was ogris 2.0 all over again =/ honestly i have no clue what DE thinks they are doing with the whole weapon/ammo issue, but it is definitely an aspect of the game that looks horribly unpolished at best, sloppy and just incredibly poor design and plain stupidity at worst Edited May 14, 2014 by CY13ERPUNK

I mean, MIter should totally use Rifle ammo instead of Sniper ammo and the Penta vice versa. Would have made much more sense.
