Ancient Infestor's Weakspot?

Okay im having a lot of trouble trying to figure out the weakspot for these ancients.

If you tell me their weakspot is their head im going to slap you in the face and pour a bucket of cold water on you ;)

I know the three ancient's weakspot are the legs and arms. I've shot those areas on many of them and sometimes it works and sometime it doesn't.

Now i know what you're thinking, they have two arms, two legs-maybe you're shooting the wrong arm or leg. Well hell, do i really have to shoot all 4 locations to find out where each Ancient's weakspot is located at? Because i swear to Tenno's god these freaken weakspot is different for every freaken Ancient.

There are times where it would work and i would think oh okay, this toxic Ancient and the other toxic Ancient must have the same location weakspot. *shoot* NOPE ITS NOT THE LEG, ITS ACTUALLY THE ARM NOW!

I've had a friend with Banshee use the Sonar ability on these ancients and the weirdest thing is, the abilty will sometimes show the ancient's weakspot is their abdomen area, arm, or leg. We've shot those areas and it never did higher dmg. It was counted as if it was a normal shot.

I just dont understand the mechanics for the infested. For Grinner and Corpus, their weakspot is there, it doesn't change and if you're able to shoot that area then you'll do the weakness dmg... But for the infested Ancients... holy lord christ these guys keep changing their weakness location.

Am i doing something wrong or is this part of their "adaptation"? To have multiple weakspot and only one is the true weakness.

To be honest, the Ancient infestors are already one of the hardest "elite" mobs amongst the three races, It shouldn't be that trival... holy cow ~.~

Please enlighten me community. <3

Banshee's Sonar ability highlights a random location on any enemies body and makes it a weak point, it doesn't mean that that location is always a weak point.

Sorry to tell you, Ancients take more dmg when ya shoot them in the head. other than that I've noticed nothing else. (People told me to shoot legs once, I noticed I did more dmg shooting them in the head) but it seems certain weapons can't get headshots on them. (Don't slap me just tellin ya the truth buddy lol)

(Chargers though, those guys' heads are so small it's pretty hard to hit it, either that or I can't tell what's their head and what's their body lol)

Yeah that knee cap area right? I've shot that area in slow single shot many times, and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. when i say that, i meant when i kill one by shooting their weak spot-i shoot another at the same spot and it doesnt work.

My point is, i know their weakspots but does anybody have the same issue as me with them not be consistent?

Nope you're wrong, shooting them in the weakspot (legs and arms) you can hit them for 300+ dmg with my Gorgan. You're going to tell me you've shot for over 300+ dmg one bullet on the head? I dont believe you. Screen shot or you're delusional lol

Their weakpoint is the head, for bolt weapons. For other bullets besides bolt and besides having on piercing damage, you shoot it's foot. Normally i shoot the foot on the smaller leg, works on all of them (the ancients that is).

You can shoot it's smaller arm, though i think only certain part of the arm and not the entire thing. I just find the foot easier, since people get in the way or when its flailing its arm around like a maniac.

Use the pictures I provided, don't take long to open paint. So far I've been testing and head seems to be the only place I can hit it with bullets that does extra dmg. Crits happen anywhere though. (I'm using Armor Piercing btw)

left leg is unarmored weakspot~ Headshot has a reduction of 50% but a multiplier of 2x if hit with a normal attack so they are both valid weakspot if you are using a non bolt weapon. bolt weapons will deal more damage when hit on the head tho.

Don't shoot the knee (It's just a joke about skyrim..). Shoot its feet.

You can try that with any 100acc pistol. Shoot the body then shoot the leg or head to test the dmg. But mostly, the head will swing around and harder to aim precisely (and the weak spot hitbox on the head is quite small also)

actually if you shoot it with a paris on the eye part it deals 1000 damage

Basically any area on the limbs past the joint is where you want to be hiting (IE below the knee or elbow). If you're having problems with them, I recomend putting an ice elemental mod on your gun. It slows their movement speed, and make them much easier targets.

Holy S#&$, that small thing is one of the weak spots eh? jesus christ lol well i'll be damned shooting that thingy while its moving haha with a Gorgan.

Thanks for the info guys, these ancients sure is harder to shoot the weakspots then corpus or grinner. since their weakness is cannot be shot if they turn to a certain side, or sometimes the animation of their foot would be under the ground.

Interesting enough, thanks community!
