Hexerin Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 (edited) it even makes logical sense, what with oxium being what makes flight a thing. Edited May 18, 2014 by Hexerin
nitroz76 Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 you are misunderstanding logic here. They all do have a chance to drop. Those that didn't drop just didn't drop because of RNG. Not all of them will drop.
Zeyez Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 (edited) for me, great because, for now, only oxium osprey and containers on any map can drop oxium and i hate this Edited May 18, 2014 by Zeyez

Not all of them will drop. .... only Oxpreys(Oxium Ospreys) drop Oxium. and it's a 100% chance. if you destroy them before they suicide. on topic: i don't really feel that we need more Units awarding Oxium. just spawn them more often in all tilesets and etc. since they don't spawn that often in many missions. while others, there's plenty.

Not all of them will drop. yeah, it just so happens that up to this point, shield ospreys and mine ospreys have never dropped a single oxium but if you kill an oxium osprey, yes, you're guaranteed at least 1 oxium I think it does make some sense that all levitating corpus robots could be utilizing oxium, and thus could be changed to have a chance to drop it. then again, they also have propulsion systems which means that they don't all really float. so I think we should leave it as is
Mastikator2 Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 it even makes logical sense, what with oxium being what makes flight a thing. I'm sorry but that is not the case.
DoomsDayDan Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 It would make sense for the Corpus to start incorporating oxium into other osprey designs so we'd have a sensical reason for all ospreys to drop oxium
PeterKha Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 I don't know why people have such a hard time with Oxium. They drop more frequently than the Clan Tech resources and I'm sitting on about 1k each of them. I'd be sitting on an overload of Oxium too but I don't do too many Corpus missions and I only farm for it when I need it which at the moment I don't and I'm still sitting on about 300.
misoru2012 Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 idiot not idiot Me? zavienh5=smartass Not so much being a smartass as you are being a $&*^. Yeah, I agree. The grind for oxium is ridiculous, it makes more sense to limit the resource to a specific enemy class (ospreys) than just one specific enemy type (oxium ospreys).
Somedude1000 Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 They probably wont because this games main focus is Grind2win :/ Godspeed :D
(PSN)Bobtm0 Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 How small of a chance is small enough though? Shield and to a less extent Mine Osprey are very, very common on any Corpus mission. If it's super low then it'll do little to aid in the attainment of Oxium, and if it were made high gaining Oxium would be laughably easy. To look at it on the flip-side of things; If every Oxium Osprey you kill only drops the minimum of one Oxium, you still only have to kill 600 of them for the personal requirements needed to build Zephyr. Every time one drops more, you're gaining an incredible increase in efficiency really. If the resource in question were used for a great many things then I'd say go for it, but as it stands there is little to no reason for implementing something of this from a design standpoint. As for the "lore" standpoint, nothing there at all as the other Osprey existed before the Corpus stole the element.
