achromos Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 (edited) Seriously, it is as god mode as undertow why is nobody talking about that :|? As long as you keep moving you don't have to bother with getting hit, it even deflects melee attacks! Don't hate on the truth. :) Edited May 18, 2014 by Sibarian
VKhaun Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 (edited) Been saying this for a long time. I use her to level bad weapons and weapons with no catalyst, because I can run around free as a bird on open surival maps like Cambria and kill with impunity. I'm honestly still confused as to exactly how it works. I was convinced it was an aura and I was stacking range, but I heard it was changed and then the change was reverted? Wiki was not terribly helpful last I checked. Effect is not in question though. press 3 and ignore incoming fire for the duration. This was the .gif I used last time I said this on the forums. This is what happens to Corpus A.I. when you use it. :P [ Edited May 18, 2014 by VKhaun
StinkyPygmy Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 Really? I've never seen tailwind deflect a melee attack. And sure, it redirects most projectiles fired at you but you do still take the odd bullet to the head, even while moving. It would hardly call it godmode. especially considering it only seems to affect enemies shooting from in front of you. You're also forgetting about AOE attacks, napalms for insistence, Which still damages you if it lands even remotely close.
(PSN)IIIDevoidIII Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 (edited) It deflects incoming projectiles to an angle, so you can still be struck just at a very small window (270 degrees I believe). I agree that window should be widened. Not by an extreme amount, just enough so that you are not impossible to be struck when going fast enough. Edited May 18, 2014 by IIIDevoidIII
thedan001 Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 Works well vs grineer/corpus Useless against Infested

Aoe attacks still damage you, kinda like in undertow :p, your just not a priority target at all. Also it 'had' deflected some melee attacks on my end at least.
ZNoodle Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 (edited) Seriously, it is as god mode as undertow why is nobody talking about that :|? As long as you keep moving you don't have to bother with getting hit, it even deflects melee attacks! Whoa there buddy! The reason Turb hasnt been brought up in terms of "OP" is because though it scales nicely compared to many skills out there it isnt truly an OP skill. First lets go with your statement of "It even deflects melee attacks". Turbulence redirects any incoming projectiles. Notice the word Projectiles my friend because melees, last time i checked, for the most part are not projectiles, the only exception to this being the glaive. If any Melee enemy, for example the Infested, came up to a Turbulence Zephyr it will not decrease nor block the melee dmg being inflicted by any amount. Zephyr will take it and suffer. Second, yes it isnt hard to survive with Turbulence to a point while running around but that does not mean you are covered for the duration of the ability considering there are still tiny holes in the wall.. First off, when it comes to Grineer weapons the ability suffers to redirect as opposed to energy weps, making her more effective against the Corpus rather than the Grineer. The ability itself will protect you for a good while, with a max of 60 seconds, if my math is correct on Narrow+Cont+Const added together, and chances are you will stay alive but it doesnt stop all damage. Bombard rockets can be redirected but the splash dmg can still hurt you and even throw you to the ground, same applies to any ground slams by leaders. To simply put it, Turbulence is pretty balanced as it is. Enemies can move to any position and strike you with no problem. Dont believe me? Stand and let enemies fire at you. You will notice some projectiles making it pass the barrier and enemies like prodmen and butchers coming up to smack you. It doesnt break the game at all considering it is the ability that costs 75 energy to pop and even with streamline its a decent amount of energy to pump for a frame that should be more worried about controlling the crowd than popping Turbulence every second it can. Turbulence is pretty much Iron Skin, just replace the dmg absorb to duration and remove melee and knockback immunity. <And yes moving with this ability is pretty effective, but it doesnt get rid of the window opening you to damage> Edited May 18, 2014 by ZNoodle
DoomsDayDan Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 Now people are just calling to nerf any other frame to try and soothe the anal anguish induced by not being able to stay invulnerable for the whole mission anymore
achromos Posted May 18, 2014 Author Posted May 18, 2014 (edited) Now people are just calling to nerf any other frame to try and soothe the anal anguish induced by not being able to stay invulnerable for the whole mission anymore Eeeh, I figured i'd just throw another warframe under the bus because apparently becoming a puddle is OP now. <And yes moving with this ability is pretty effective, but it doesnt get rid of the window opening you to damage> one word... aoe damage, blast damage. It can happen and I HAVE died in undertow mode. Edited May 18, 2014 by Sibarian
Shadow-Blades Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 (edited) Eeeh, I figured i'd just throw another warframe under the bus because apparently becoming a puddle is OP now. one word... aoe damage, blast damage. It can happen and I HAVE died in undertow mode. Puddle too OP. Needs 'Floor Slippery When Wet' warning sign nerf. IMHO I think it is the funniest power in the game. It's hilarious just to watch a bunch of grineer walk through a choke point and fall on their asses and then sink into the puddle that is Hydroid. Edited May 18, 2014 by Shadow-Blades
joker13265 Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 Eeeh, I figured i'd just throw another warframe under the bus because apparently becoming a puddle is OP now. have you seen saryn lately? her venom is almost working again! we can't have none of that.
UndeadGhostWarrior Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 some people just want to watch the world burn
SpilockT_T Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 Apparently whenever a power scales perfectly with enemies' level, people will call it another power that need a nerf/balance.. Jeez..
Paradoxbomb Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 I don't recall ever seeing it deflect a melee attack, but if it can then it shouldn't. I'll also admit it's a bit silly that it can completely stop a shotgun at point blank range, if they were to reduce it's effectiveness slightly based on how close you are to the enemy, I think that would be a reasonable balancing mechanic.
RugerMK1 Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 Turbulence also has the unfortunate side effect of deflecting incoming fire into your Sentinel.
unknow99 Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 If D.E. reads this : this isn't a nerf call, okay? Please don't... :s
Lycrius Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 My turbulence doesn't block a single hitscan weapon making it pretty useless against grineer. The 3 grineer weapons it deflects are miter, napalm rocket and bombardier rocket, which are DEFLECTED making them still hit a wall or ground somewhere with a big enough radii to knock me off my feet. It does nothing to melee enemies or heavy gunners. I agree that it's way too stong against corpus (its invulnerability, I haven't been hit once in a corpus mission while running turbulence (deras, detrons, flux rifles and what ever the lmg one is called are completely deflected making you invulnerable). And since it's an aura you can do some range maxing to cover defence pod and team mates with it if you like. Problem still being it only works against corpus and it's too powerful at that.
Acino Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 But.. but... how can you even call accuracy decrease aura god mode...? This is related to trinity nerfs isn't it?
residente Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 I can run around free as a bird What you did here, I see it
achromos Posted May 18, 2014 Author Posted May 18, 2014 have you seen saryn lately? her venom is almost working again! we can't have none of that. Someone needs to bring to light the overpoweredness that is SARYN! D: we cannot live in a world with that type of injustice, bring the false gods down to their knees!
Ishki88 Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 lol I KNEW this was coming..I freakin' KNEW it All aboard the nerf Turbalence train!
achromos Posted May 18, 2014 Author Posted May 18, 2014 lol I KNEW this was coming..I freakin' KNEW it All aboard the nerf Turbalence train! Way ahead of you! :D
Draciusen Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 People finally found out she's nigh invincible with Turbulence?
VegetableBasket Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 (edited) By no means is turbulence godmode, you can be hit by projectiles, there is always a chance that they won't deflect or will not deflect enough. You don't need to play her a lot to realize that.Go complain about something else. Like how you can die mid cast of absorb and when you're revived, have it up as long as you have energy. Oops did I say that out loud. Edited May 18, 2014 by VegetableBasket
