Even without stance mods, players they should be able to view their combos, instead of a screen telling them to find stance mods. DE recently clarified their statement that "no stance mod" is a stance by itself.

Following that logic, why isn't a stance-less weapon combos shown, even if it's just E E E?

There's already a lack of good (and many erroneous) information in descriptions, so new players don't necessarily know how to perform things like wall attacks, slide attacks and so on. These attacks are listed as "combos" in the melee combo screen when you have a stance mod equipped

So why can the player only see these "combos" when they actually have a stance, even though they're basic moves that can be done without a stance mod? They should be listed in the first place, so new players (especially if they start solo) can learn more easily by themselves, as opposed to relying on outside source that's not in the game.

It could be done as simply as this:

That would be helpful. This would teach new players how to different things other than just slash-slash-slash-slash-slash. I commonly have to tell new players how to do the many different un-stanced melee combos and this would help prevent me from having to do that.

yah why not?

I guess it might just be they need to think of new stance mod names for every melee.

... orr they could just call it basic attack

The stance name only matters when there's a mod card. Since that doesn't involve a mod, there's no need for a specific name other than "standard polearm stance" or something like that, for the sake of the wiki. The only thing they'll need to name is the basic E E E combo, which isn't hard to find a cool name to be honest.

Piercing Fang

Severing Gale

Splitting Quake

Phoenix Flight

Twin Razor

I'm just throwing random names that quickly came to mind, and they're similar to the current naming of combos.

no sorry. I meant melee combo names.

Oh, well then it still works XD

All the basic attacks like jump attack, slide attack, wall attack and finisher share the same name across stances of the same weapon-type, since they are the same attacks. All they need to change is the name of the E E E attack, which I gave random suggestions to prove my point how easy it is to find names.
