So This New Destiny Game Looks Interesting... The End Of Warframe?

Greetings fellow traveler.

(FYI: This is not a post that you might want to take too serious, it's a concern that I think need a little debating on.) Also it's not the "End of Warframe" This is only the beginning.

So I take a look at whats new in the gaming world, and this video showcasing "Destiny" is superb.

It looks good, it feels good and it might be a gamechanger that will become a "trend" But from what I see, there is a lot of things that connect to how Warframe is based.

The universe, planets, abilities, beautiful graphics and so on. How can we reflect this to use in Warframe? Because what I felt from this video is like the game will steal some great ideas with fame, that warframe has to offer.

The feeling I got is, will I move? Will I play this over Warframe? Well, the game looks epic. And what makes me want to play it is the exact same reason I started playing Warframe. The Universe, planets and exploring the deep context of what reality and sci-fi can do together. What Warframe is loosing my interest over now, is the emerge beauty of the enovirement the skybox gives you. The interaction from above, thats the thing that hooked me to be questioning myself upon this matter.

Warframe is still evolving, but are we focusing on the right elements? Yes we might be, but really my biggest concern is this. How far will that get DE, us players, new ones and Veteran ones. Will we ever see the planets in a more complex way? The feeling that you are there, having those interactions and scenes just gives that little extra.

Warframe has a huge playerbase, it has popularity. But I feel like that popularity will drop in the next future events.

I cant really put my finger on the matter at this point, but Warframe has become a game that is like a mountain. You have the upwards reality, but when you reach top point, it's bound to go down again. I feel like warframe is there, not for me. But for DE, the community. It might be nothing, but I have a concern on the future of Warframe and the genre/style type of game this is! Because lately things like this has become a trend, it's like Warframe started it with these insaine mixed playstyles. We have abilities, we have warframes with those abilities that we are labeled as ninjas. We have weapons, we have planets to explore, we have the view. Wallrunning parkour and so much more to write down.

So to sum this up, what would boost the playerbase, the income for more and more to grow the Warframe universe?

Warframe was once a little unknown game, then it became a known game (ps4, open beta), today I feel like it's become a hidden game that a few lives to tell the tale. These are my concerns, upon what can grab you'r attention in games. What makes you want to play that game?

This little concern I have came from this one and only video, I dont know why. But one day the answer will come to us. Let's hope it's not whats been predicted. It might be a sad one.

Disgussion, and debates are welcome. But be aware, any comments directing, or redirectiing this topic will stay, and just be there untill it is forgotten.

That last bit is my feeling upon this matter. I want Warframe to grow stronger, not only by playerbase, but also in physical state of what it is. So many new games I see future atleast one-two or even four things that already Warframe has to offer. And I get defensive about it. I think only a handfull of people will understand this. If so, you have a great mind.

PS: I might just be overthinking it now, but this is a matter to look into. Disguss it nice and clean Tenno!

I forgot something... The video link is inside this nice Spoiler box. Enjoy the gameplay.

A similar topic already sprung up om the forums once, actually.

And no, I doubt it's the end of Warframe. It just means DE is going to have to step up their damn game and get on with it.

Already got my beta testers key... looking forward to no longer being a looked down upon and being a second class citizen.

This is a fine example of what will happen with not only one guy. And if that continues faster that the income of knowing about warframe, then were does that lead us? Back to square one.

Yeah, this won't hurt the PC community, since there's no PC version coming out (yet).

I'm just glad it isn't next-gen exclusive, and is also available on the 360 and PS3.

I ensure you it's not the end of Warframe. As I stated quite early in the post, but this is a concern on what DE can do to compete with those other "big" ones. Warframe is a game that you want to keep track on, otherwise you miss out. A few might take a few weeks break, or even a month. By that time nothing, or everything has changed. That might reflect to a man, to be less caring about the game and moves on to another. And with that mentality compared to the income of new travelers. You know?

Im just concerned, thats all.

But I must say, using the right words will get attention. "The End of Warframe?" I think thats what 90% of people tuning in is what they saw...

Must resist urge to flame and tell op how horribly moronic this sounds.

Instead, allow me to use an analogy to show you how stupid this sounds.

Oh crap, a new Resident Evil is coming out, it's the end of Battlefield!

Like any new, anticipated game, it will drawn in players regardless of what system it's on. If people want to play it, they'll play it and the games they were playing previously will be played less. That's, you know, a given with video games.

However, that definitely won't stop people from playing Warframe. Some may play it less, but will come back. Plus, there are differences in gameplay that appeal to different people, or some may not be interested at all. Etc, etc.

However again, Warframe does need it's share of improvements that it's future relies heavily upon...

Whatever.

I don't understand.... how can an FPS, console-exclusive, can end the life of a third-person shooter that have not one but TWO community bases.... Just explain properly, please.

It's a 3a game. It will be cool, but wont get updates. Like every other 3a title. It will die.

You might be right, but by that time. The game might have gotten a few of our own aswell.

It's not all about the game in general, but its about the universe alone attracting attention to it.

Just like when Halo's developers decided to ditch PC platform completely and this being exclusively on consoles, I say MEH.

I don't even have a console and I'm a happy gamer still.

No S#&$...

lol any game that comes out and looks good will get players to leave a game.

Not just warframe...

Also.. Why are you comparing a AAA game to warframe?

Anddd when COD ghosts came out, it barely did anything to warframe...

And thats COD. The S#&$ty series with 5 million times more fanboys that warframe... Yah that one.

I think some competition is good for gamers in general. The more warframe-like game, the better. If you care about seeing this game getting better, of course.

I'm sorry, but how is Destiny a concern or even a good example here? It is Bungie's Halo lovechild homage that somehow ended up mateing with Borderlands. It looks bland and generic, absolutely nothing to write home about. It will have the Bungie level of polish, but thats about it. Also, there has been no word of Destiny on PC, so how is this relevant to the PC community? Terrible example for artificial concern.

Also, I can't see where the concern is, at all. God forbid people playing more than one game at a time or taking a break from a game and coming to it later. I've had months long breaks from Warframe yet here I am -- because Warframe fills a niche space in the gaming market that no other game, neither present, nor remotely on the horizon can or will fill.

As far as the development of Warframe goes, it is an ARPG/HnS in the skin of a third person shooter with proceduraly generated levels, and it has been going in that direction the whole time. I'm perfectly fine with that direction, all they should do is spice up the loot tables big time, add more stuff to them in the form of randomly generated loot and it is all good.

And I have no idea which are this big releases that you are talking about, because from where I'm standing, as far as the AAA industry goes, there is NOTHING even remotely interesting coming out in 2014 that clashes with what Warframe is providing. Without insult being indended, this whole tread is pretentious while raising no real issues and/or concerns and has no substance of any form.
