Codex Scanner: Unable To Switch Back To Weapons

as the title says, then i only have a primary/secondary equipped and i use the codex scanner i cant switch back to my weapon again. i can only switch back to melee weapon from codex scanner and then to other weapons.

 

also this is very annoying because it can render one defenseless

reference image: i had to kill that leader by jump kicking it... since as i could not equip my weapon and my sentinel is neutral (no attack mod equipped)

Same annoying problem here, but there is a solution for this bug. Just go to your inventory and choose scanner again. Then it should switch to weapons again.

This usually happens to me if I don't have a secondary weapon equipped (looks like you don't have a secondary based on the screenshot).

 

I think its because the game lets you switch from the scanner to the secondary weapon, since you don't have a secondary weapon, you can't switch. Probably something they overlook when they let us only bring one or two weapons.

Had the bug today 2 times, found out if you got knocked down you are able to use your weapons again.

 

Another thing I noticed I am able to scan everything again even if I have all required codex scans.

This usually happens to me if I don't have a secondary weapon equipped (looks like you don't have a secondary based on the screenshot).

 

I always have my secondary and still the codex scanner blocks my weapons untill I choose it again from the inventory. There is some major bug with the scanner since two last game updates.

Happened to me yesterday but i was stuck with scanner and couldnt switch or use anything, and i had all my guns and melee but i was stuck on the codex hud, and couldnt even use the dam thing I JUST WANTED TO FIX A FEW KUBROWS!

After equipping the scanner and scanning an enemy, I am unable to equip a weapon after.

 

Sometimes this can be fixed with re-equipping the scanner. However, this is unreliable and does not always solve the problem.

 

At times I am only able to reequip to melee (stance mode).

 

Didn't use codex scanner much before 13.4, so I do not know if this is related to the 'outline color' changes of scanned enemies or not.

hmm wierd, the only way for me to get my weapons equipped is holding F

Hi. I found two bugs regarding weapon switching from the codex scanner without a secondary weapon. I think this is because that pressing "f" will automatically switch to the secondary weapon.

 

1. If you have no secondary equipped, you cannot change to your weapons from the scanner normally. You have to hold "f" to change to your melee.

 

2. If you have no secondary AND melee equipped, the scanner cannot be unequipped by pressing or holding 'f'

i have a shorotcut for the scanner set on J

if i have main weapon equipped -> press J for scanner -> press J again i go back to main weapon.

if i have main weapon equipped -> press J for scanner -> press F for weapon switch i go to my secondary weapon.

 

so i think if you have no secondary and no melee, you can still switch back to main weapon, by clicking the scanner again in the gear circle or by its shortcut directly.

I have a several issues while using F key to switching from codex scanner to weapon.

 

- If I equip a primary weapon and using a scanner, pressing F will draw a secondary weapon instead.

- If I have no secondary weapon and using a scanner, pressing F will not switch to primary weapon.

- If I have no secondary weapon and using a scanner, holding F will draw a melee weapon and you will unable to switching to primary weapon again.

That's because F unequips the scanner and switches weapons. If you hit your hotkey for the scanner again, it swaps to what you last had out.

There has been a bug for a while with the Codex where if you don't have a primary or secondary only a melee weapon equipped, if you then switch to the Codex scanner, switching back to melee is then impossible.

That's indeed something I found annoying. It appears that the original way to unequip the scaner is to select it again in the gear.
When pressing F we should return to our previously equiped weapon when we have the scaner, instead of switching to the other weapon, if we have one.

Actually not just melee. Any weapon. I ran a pistol only Defense, at it also happened. Ran a rifle only game, also happened. Happens when only one weapon slot if filled. Dev should be warned, since I could only fix this with Hysteria or getting downed.

Have you tried binding your codex scanner to key, and then pressing that key when it gets stuck? I works for me, I use it for equipping and unequipping the scanner.
