immolator1001 Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 So I forma'd my nova before even playing her after the update so I could change up her build. Right now I have her at like level 17 and I'm really enjoying* her. Molecular prime is a lot more fun now* and I like seeing the wave travel outwards. Duration definitely seems to affect its range because when I play with other nova's I notice if I cast right after the other nova, the first couple waves are primed with the other nova's energy, and the tail end is primed with mine (I have 1 rank from the top fleeting, continuity, and 3rd from the top narrow minded). All in all she is more fun, I do have to complain that using a 3rd from the top blinding rage actually slows enemies too much,* to the point where they are barely moving. *My opinions you don't have to agree.

Honestly I don't really care about balance, I just like the frames to be more fun to play then a press 4 to win button. While she is squishy the speed debuff helps a lot with run and gun play. Casardis Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 (edited) A friend of mine used her in a few missions as well, and from what they think, it seems Nova may become more novelty. She will still be a viable asset in high level missions when used right (antimatter drop, especially, is so powerful that a single shot in it can sometimes make it do 32k damage), but we may see her less often used. Not necessarily a bad thing, if you ask me. Also, a question, are you saying that the cap for slowing is so high that it can slow down more than pre-changes Nova? Additionally, have you tried using Overextended without any Power Strength mods? Apparently you can speed enemies up if you have negative power strength with MP, which is kind of funny. I tried once and couldn't tell if it was my imagination, or if they were actually faster. Edited May 23, 2014 by Casardis

Haven't tried that but ya and with blinding rage on most of them barely moved and took forever to get close enough to kill on maps that weren't really open. And they would only be like 12% faster so it might be hard to notice.

The other chars like oberon, sayrin, ember.... are just too weak for high lvl missions. The old Nova, rhino, trinity, frost are fine. (Sry if i forgot someone) the others need to be improved.

I just viewing from a fun point of view, its more fun for me to see my bubble expanding and slowing everything rather than everything instantly being primed and dying.
snaptaculous Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 No they didn't need to do anything to her...now she's got a buggy and confusing MP...no shield or armor boost to compensate for the mess. It was a horribly deployed "update" with no sign of them addressing any of the issues.

It's junk on anything besides static defense and situationally useful in survival. It's wonderful there, I'll admit, but you're just gimping your team anywhere else. Anyone else notice that the cookie cutter minmaxer builds are back, but for duration this time? I think duration gives you waaaayyy too much bang for your buck on the debuff. Bubble radius, IMO, needs to be linked to power range, and expansion rate needs adjusting, maybe inversely proportional to power duration.
