DJ-7809 Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Hey there! Been rewatching the Devstream a little bit, trying to remain hyped for U14, but I ran across a problem/question? So in the new Dark Sector conflicts, Clans who help to destroy the occupant rail get an earlier chance at deploying against said rail, correct? Well what happens if the Attacker takes the Rail? You help to destroy the Rail, you and your Clan, in order to get first pick, right? So then the attacker takes the Rail, and then the Honor Armistice kicks in, right? So wait...how is that supposed to work? I'm a wee bit confused, does anyone have any ideas of how this is going to work out?
War_Admiral_Adama Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 (edited) 4v4 PvP Tower Defense. Invaders and Defenders try to kill each other out of spawn cards. The invaders also win if they destroy objectives. All equipped gear is unranked like a Moba. Killing AI and players grants XP which levels all of your gear up one mod point and level per XP level. Im assuming Defenders of each side will be able to setup their battlefield during deployment of attacking rail. Unless only the current standing rail can defend. This creates a early-mid- and late game meta. Perfect for a PvP clan like mine. Cannot wait. Hope this was helpful. There will probably be a PvE alternative as well. -Six Feet Under Edited May 25, 2014 by Lynches

OP, I personally am confused how the new system of deployment will work as well, even after watching that segment of the devstream several times over. I would wait for a bit as we approach U14 in order to get a more in-depth description from DE as to how exactly everything will work with these new deployment hitches.
Archistopheles Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 I would wait until the system goes live, because there's still a good chance that it changes, and then changes again with a hotfix.

Those clans that attacked the defender will get a bonus to deploy a rail against the former attacker. I imagine after the armistice completes that there is a grace period where clans that helped can deploy a rail to that location before the general public can deploy.
VegetableBasket Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 (edited) Why would it matter if they took the rail? Let's set up a hypothetical to explain this.Clan A owns a rail, Clan B attacks it.Clan X,Y, and Z all help but clan B does most of the work, with X, Y, and Z respectively helping in smaller amounts.Clan B wins and there is an armistice period, which ends sooner for X, Y, and Z.Clan B owns the rail, clan X can attack before Y, Y can attack before Z, and anyone can attack after Z has their chance, assuming X and Y chose not to attack. Make sense? Maybe clan X has to help clan B win so they can have a chance to attack and take the node themselves.Perhaps it will be implemented differently, we don't know anything you don't, but I see no reason for it not to work like this. This sounds fairly likely, although it does sound like a rather vicious system....pay people to help you deploy the rail, only to have them be the first to stab you in the back. While this is likely, and I guess wouldn't be a problem, I kind of hope it's not like that.

Still seems like someone helping you then is able to turn around and stab you in the back. :/
